This is my denial time of year; everyday I wake up and hope that it will be 70 degrees again. I've been living here my whole life, so I'm not sure where my delusion comes from, but I'll tell you the 10 minutes of snow I saw this week almost made me cry.
I guess I'll just have to drown my sorrows in leftover Halloween candy (Yes, I have leftover Halloween candy. Tons of it.) and the fab events happening this weekend!
Navy Pier is going to '11' today, screening "This is Spinal Tap" at the theater. Amazing. They're also offering free Ferris Wheel rides and a ton of other 11-themed discounts. Here's the full list.
There are very few things I like more than stuffing myself with delicious sweets. That's why you'll definitely find me at Logan Square Kitchen this weekend for Pastry Market. All types of pastries, chocolates, candies and anything else that will make you fat will be on sale from local Chicago chefs. Admission is $1.
I heard a rumor that the Starfruit truck is giving away free treats today before it goes to Los Angeles for the winter. Follow the truck on twitter for more information.
Don't forget to check out "Tap Like Water" at Dance Chicago tonight!
Before I sign off for the weekend, I'd like to leave you with this:
I was going to try to hold off on posting Christmasy activities for as long as possible, but there are too many fantastic events coming up. I hope that by posting this comment it makes up for my weakness.
