My favorite category of stories on our mid-month mash up episode of the Barber Shop Show is always the WTF stories. Sure, we share our news likes and dislikes, and those are interesting. But the WTFs are always the ones I end up telling my husband about over dinner.
Like the lady who found out she actually married her dad. That one was a doozy. And then there was one of this week's stories - a spread in the Chicago Tribune about Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
Yeah, you read that right. Flamin' hots, as they're known, have been around for 20 years now. Elly Fishman of Chicago Magazine who joined us in the shop, told us about the legacy of the spicy snack.
And this week, we'll have a fun show dedicated to our host and long-time leader of The Chicago Reporter, Kimbriell Kelly. Kimbriell is leaving us for a great job as an investigative reporter at the Washington Post, so this week, we'll be joined by her favorite guests to discuss the topics she loves most -- Natalie Moore of WBEZ, reporter Elias Cepeda, Don Washington of the Mayoral Tutorial and Audra Wilson of Northwestern University.
Join us Friday at noon on the Barber Shop Show, broadcast live from Carter's Barber Shop in North Lawndale, on Vocalo 89.5 FM or Vocalo.org. If you want to call in to give Kimbriell your own farewell, you can do so at 888-635-1112, or share your thoughts with us on our Facebook or Twitter. We'll read any online comments live on air during the show.
And if you missed last week's show, you can always catch our podcast, available the Tuesday after the show airs.
