Chicago teacher strike: CPS files an injunction, slideshow on the rally

The Chicago teacher strike took a dramatic turn on Monday.

Instead of going back to school as many had hoped, CPS filed an injunction against the strike. On Sunday, union leaders said they needed more time to review the contract proposal. This angered Mayor Rahm Emanuel who instructed city lawyers to ask a judge to force the teachers return to work.  A Cook County judge set a hearing for Wednesday  on the CPS request.

The latest developments have certainly changed the mood from over the weekend, when spirits were flying high during a weekend rally at Union Park. Be sure to check out our slideshow on the rally below.
