Join us Friday at the launch party for our "Policing the Police" issue

$110 million dollars. That’s how much the City of Chicago has paid in police misconduct lawsuits and legal fees in the past two years.

In this month's issue of The Chicago Reporter, reporter Angela Caputo dug through hundreds of lawsuits to unearth the 140 officers that were named in multiple misconduct cases. Of the 140 “repeaters”, 80 percent of them are still policing Chicago streets. Their names have long been hidden, until now.

Join the Reporter staff, along with journalists, activists, academics, and other engaged Chicagoans on Friday, June 8th for the launch party of our May/June issue.

We’ll be celebrating the hard work, and damning results, from Angela’s investigation, “Abusing the Badge”, with conversation and cocktails at our usual spot, the M Lounge at 1520 S. Wabash Ave. in the South Loop.

Click here to RSVP, or check it out on Facebook.

After winning eight Peter Lisagor Awards, we’re feeling particularly celebratory. So come enjoy M Lounge drink specials, network with our passionate reader community, and continue the conversation about police accountability in our city.

  • Hope nobody holds the joint up and you have to call a cop.

How about doing some muckraking on the repeat gang bangers that make life for us on the south side hell on earth?
