Snickering behind the drones of a stationary train
the bin outside your flat
rattles across the floor
with a mind of it’s own,
undressing itself for the first time
in the thrones of a horde of shaking trees
with leaves becoming notes
and the headlights from the flats
clanking and gossiping in the wind
slung like a bridge over this empty-car park,
like sand in the air
in a lightly clenched fist
Or a miracle floating past the top of our car
marching past to the rhythm
of a totally different song.
