The week is done! Give yourself a pat on the back, you did it! As a reward for all your hard work, I came up with an extended list of live lit events that I did not include in Monday's roundup. Read about tonight's events after the jump!
Whoever said Friday the 13th was unlucky? (Actually it's not, but that's another story for another time) Curbside Splendor Publishing wants to make you feel lucky. Come out to City Lit Books (2523 North Kedzie Blvd) for Curbside Splendor: The Essay Collective at 6:30pm. Samantha Irby, Ben Tanzer and Megan Stielstra are reading! Also in attendance is FREE PIE! You're welcome. Free.
Also happening at 6:30pm: join your hosts Abraham Levitan and Brian Costello at the Hideout Inn (1354 W. Wabansia) for Shame That Tune! This reading series has a musical and comedic edge to it that is sure to make you smile. Your storytellers tonight are Angela Vela, Kenny Witzgall and Josh Zagoren. Tickets are $5.
Come out to the Outer Space Studio (1474 N. Milwaukee Ave) at 7pm for the Red Rover Series hosted by Laura Goldstein and Jennifer Karmin. Tonight's featured performers include Soham Patel, Julia Cohen and many more. There is a suggested donation of $4.
A guerilla reading series at a laundromat. That is exactly what's happening at Sudz Laundry (1425 W Morse Ave) at 7pm. Absinthe and Zygote #12: Dirty Laundry will feature readings from James Tadd Adcox, Cean Gamalinda, Ryan N. Lang and many more awesome writers. Bring your dirty laundry. Free.
If saucy femme fatales are more your speed, come out to Uncharted Books (2630 N. Milwaukee Ave.) for Loose Chicks at 7:15pm. Your hosts this evening are Jillian Erickson and Roberta Miles. Catch gusty performances by Gretchen Rachel Blickensderfer, Virginia Marie and Sheri Reda. Free event with suggested donation.
