Come out to Quimby's Bookstore at 7pm and see Anya Davidson read from her captivating new graphic full-length novel, Signs and School Spirits. This event is free, but Davidson's beautiful graphic novel is $19.95. Don't know who Anya Davidson is? We've posted a brief bio of this wunderkind below:

Angela Vela's brilliant reading series, The Seven Deadly Sins is happening at Cafe Mustache at 8pm. This eclectic series blends storytelling, mixed media, stand-up comedy and poetry together for a fantastic evening in a cozy setting. Each month, Vela assigns an artist or storyteller a sin, and that artist can use which ever form of media they feel most comfortable with to weave a real or fictional story based around their assigned sin. Featured performers this month include Deanna Moffitt, Adam Burke, Kelsie Huff and many, many more. Bonus points? Cafe Mustache offers booze, food and coffee! The Seven Deadly Sins... The cozy potluck series, A Month of presents Dress to Impress! at Stage 773 at 7:30pm. This series is free if you bring a dish to pass, or $10 if you do not. This month's installment is all about dress code and will feature a variety of authors as well as five open slots to audience members who want to share their story about a time when they were treated differently because of what they wore. Also happening on Wednesday is Solo in the 2nd City at Beauty Bar at 8pm. Join your charismatic hosts, Melinda McIntire and Carly Oishi for a glamorous evening that will not only include awesome stories, but Beauty Bar's Signature Martini & Manicure Special for only $10! Featured performers include Josh Johnson, Amy Sumpter. Sarahlynn Pablo and many more. If you bring a few spare bucks, your donation will go to the Chicago Women's Health Center. Grown Folks Stories is Filming! at The Silver Room. This is a special edition of the reading series, as the curators made a pitch to A&E and the 48 Hour Film Project for a reality show and now said television network will be taping the series, and you have a chance to be in the audience! Come out to hear some amazing stories and be apart of history. Grown Folks Stories if Filming!, 6pm, The Silver Room.
The God, Sex & Death Variety Hour is happening at The Hideout! Come see Keith Ecker read his piece about death, Julya Savina will talk all about sex, and Joseph Goforth will broach the subject of God. Your hosts for the evening are Angela Vela and Danny Black, and music will be provided by DJ Scott Schaefer. The God, Sex & Death Variety Hour, 6:15pm, The Hideout, $5 at the door.
A Book Launch with Amina Cain and Veronica Gonzalez will take place at 7:30pm at the Logan Center for the Arts. Gonzalez founded Rockypoint Press in 2006, and her 2008 debut novel won the Aztlan Literary Prize. Cain is the author of two provocative and poignant short story collections, and her work has appeared in BOMB Magazine, n+1, and The Encyclopedia Project.
