McIntire, David Friedman Award-winning writer, Michael Meyer
and “The Pathetic” comedy web series creator, C.J. Arellano.
Our theme this month is “The Transmogrifier.” All four featured readers will read short original works. They will also read short passages from a recognizable published work by any author which in some way relates to “The Transmogrifier,” with related trivia.
RUI features readings of short original works and themed trivia contests with book prizes for winning audience members. The event takes place in two rounds, with breaks in between each round so that audience members can engage in discussion with each other and with the featured readers about publications and events. We have been holding monthly events since March, 2005—as such, we are one of Chicago’s longest continuously running reading series.
April hosts are RUI’s Rob Duffer, Julia Borcherts, Amy Guth, Kyle Chaney, Erin Nederbo, Naomi Huffman, Bronwyn Mead, Frankie Migacz, Jon Natzke and Behnam Riahi.
