Build Your Platform Before You Publish Workshop Offered in Chicago March 24

Chicago writers will receive in-depth training on creating effective author platforms at the Build Your Platform Before You Publish workshop on Sunday March 24th, 11 am – 4 pm, at Uncharted Books in Logan Square.

Workshop leader Anne Hill has been advising authors in online marketing since 1994, and advocates a long-term approach. "Publishing is easy today, but growing a readership takes time,” explains Hill. “Authors need a platform strategy that is focused and sustainable, so that we can keep at it for as long as it takes.”

Build Your Platform Before You Publish goes beyond marketing tactics to help authors: • Clarify goals, and let those determine the best strategies for you
• Choose wisely among social media tools
• Connect with readers as well as influencers in your genre

• Learn best practices for online engagement and ways to collaborate with other authors

Early Bird Registration for the workshop is $85, and ends on March 10. Regular Registration is $125. To register go to
