About

Hey everyone! Before I get started on what my blog is about, I just want to say, I am not a film snob! Nor am I a pretentious film goober who will criticize you for enjoying Michael Bay or owning Final Destination 5 on blu-ray. I saw Norbit and Ghost Rider in the theater…no judgments.  I appreciate all kinds of films but clearly, as the title suggests, the focus of this blog will be on the glory of Independent Films. I am amazed at what filmmakers can create on a $50,000, and a lot of the times a lot less than that!  First and foremost, I will be watching and reviewing Indie films, from the more mainstream Indies, to the very obscure.  I will review the occasional foreign Indie and will highlight Indies made by Chicagoans a few times a month.

Non-pretentious dynamo aside let me tell you a little more about myself. I received my B.A. in Communications and Film Theory from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005. I have lived in this amazing city for about seven years and could not be happier.  I do free lance work promoting Independent Films as well as bartend at a lovely dive bar part-time to keep myself busy.  Along with reviewing films, I will give some filmmakers advice in my blog as in how to promote and market their work.  Feel free to comment and give feedback! Enjoy!
