I think your "sort of" relegates Piven to a supporting role. What do other people think about Smokin' Aces?
It was an ensemble cast, but he was in the middle. I guess it was the closest he came to a "starring" role at the time.

I'd argue that Piven starred in PCU. While that was an ensemble cast too, the dialogue and action surrounded his character more than the others.
