On April 29th, 2013, I’ll be part of the urban gardening panel at the Dig into Urban Agriculture with GOOD Chicago at Uncommon Ground.
Here’s a description of the event from the GOOD Chicago Local chapter’s event :
Come out to GOOD Chicago's inaugural event as we celebrate the joy of neighboring by stepping into the spring season at Uncommon Ground in Edgewater. We will be learning what it takes to be part of the growing local agriculture movement from the experts leading the charge. We will begin with a detailed tour of the Uncommon Ground rooftop farm, the first certified organic rooftop farm in the country. Following the tour, you will have the opportunity to learn and participate in a panel discussion led by Chicago urban agriculture leaders. You will walk away knowing how to start or join your own community garden, as well as pick-up gardening tips and tricks. Stick around after the discussion for food, drinks, and connecting!
Food and Drinks will be available for purchase from Uncommon Ground. We'll also be raffling off fun prizes and giveaways.
Tickets for the event can be bought here.
