Pearl Fryar at the Dusable Museum This Friday & Saturday

If you don't know who Pearl Fryar is you should watch this mini-documentary on the man. Pearl is one of my gardening heroes and a man I think I would really admire even if her was never involved with plants. He's going to be at the DuSable Museum this weekend as part of their exhibit, "“PLACES FOR THE SPIRIT: TRADITIONAL AFRICAN AMERICANS GARDENS."

Friday's presentation is $10.00/$5.00 members, and Saturday's presentation is free to the public.  For more information and to plan you trip visit the page on Pearl Fryar's visit.

Also, on Saturday, the North Lawndale Greening Committee's annual garden walk take place. They are meeting at the Douglass Branch Library at 9:00 am. The bus is leaving promptly at 10:00 am and we plan to return to the library by 12:30 pm. A potluck lunch will follow. See the NLGC Facebook page for updates.
