I'll be part of an urban gardening panel at the Green Metropolis Fair, this Saturday. The panel on urban gardening will be moderated by Tim Winkler from Mindful Metropolis. It will take place on the 2nd floor library from 3pm-4pm. If chance to see me bomb in front of a live audience isn't enough of an incentive to attend, there's family-friendly activities, farm animals, composting demos, showing of Dirt! The Movie & Vanishing of the Bees. Retail and food markets with local restaurants and chefs and presentations on CSA, car-sharing & more. Free entry to the fair with non-perishable food donation requested. All are welcome. Ample free parking. Conveniently located off 90/94, CTA Blue Line: Montrose stop, and multiple bus routes. • I'm confident you won't bomb MBT! Have a wonderful time. I'd love to be there, but I'm headed up to SW Wisconsin to visit my mom. I'll be combing the woods to see if there are any spring ephemerals I missed bringing samples of home last year, digging some rhubarb, and attending a mushroom festival.

The Green Fair sounds like a fantastic event. I haven't seen the bee movie (yet, but I will,) (LOVED DIRT!,) and if I wasn't going to Mom's I'd definitely pack up the girls and the grandkids and head down to enjoy all the neat stuff they have planned.

Thanks! I wish I could see your mom's garden, the pictures you post on your blog look so awesome. Maybe next year you can bring the fam to the Green Metropolis Fair.
