SideDoor (corner of Rush and Ontario Streets) Beverage Director Jeff Van Der Tuuk and FEW Spirits Founder Paul Hletko invite guests to the launch of the long-awaited, FEWSIDE Fernet liqueur at the Burlesque FEW Dinner on November 19 at 7 p.m. The dinner features a selection of specialty cocktails showcasing a variety of the distillery’s spirits, paired with a four-course meal prepared by SideDoor’s Chef Brian Kwak.

Van Der Tuuk sets the stage to reveal this highly anticipated liquor with a 19thcentury burlesque-themed dinner, an era when fernet was served as a common digestif sipping spirit. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Chicago’s beloved seasonal event series ZooLights Presented by ComEd and PNC Bank, Chicagoland beer distributor Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. and the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Auxiliary Board host BrewLights on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 5:30-9 p.m. Adults 21 and older can join in the holiday spirit at this special one-night event featuring a dozen beers on tap throughout the zoo. Attendees can sample 4-oz. pours as holiday lights illuminate the zoo and animals roam throughout their exhibits. Regular adult ZooLights activities are included in the early-bird ticket price of $35, and food and full-size beers will be available for purchase throughout the evening. All proceeds from BrewLights help keep Chicago’s landmark zoo open and free to the public 365 days a year.

Tickets are $35 early-bird ticket (Oct. 24-Nov. 9), $40 advance ticket (Nov. 10-Dec. 1)

ACME Hotel Company is honored to partner with Mercy Home for Boys and Girls this holiday season to launch its first-ever “30-Day Suite Toy Drive” on November 15. The goal is to fill a suite-full of toys for the wonderful kids of Mercy Home, a local organization that provides a safe home for children in crisis. Here’s how it works and how to get involved…

THE DEETS - Starting November 15, ACME will dedicate one of its spacious suites purely to toy collection to create a suite-full of toys in 30 days. Mercy Home will collect the toys on December 15 and then wrap and deliver the presents to the 600-plus children within the organization.

THE MORE THE MERRIER! - Envisioning a hotel suite teeming with toys, ACME is engaging everyone in the community to participate and show their support…hotel guests, locals, neighbors, colleagues, friends, family, the family dentist…literally, everyone.

HOW TO DONATE?

ACME offers FIVE different ways for everyone to chip in for the kids…

  • In the neighborhood? Locals can stop by ACME and drop off a new, unwrapped toy with the front desk.
  • Donate digitally. Visit ACME’s crowdfunding site at https://www.crowdrise.com/suitetoydrive to donate some dollars and ACME does the shopping.
  • Stay at ACME. Hotel Guests staying between November 15 and December 15 who donate a toy get $10 knocked off their bill – OR – Guests can book the toy drive rate and ACME will donate $10 of the proceeds toward buying a toy.
  • Stock up on Cake Balls. Buy a box of holiday cake balls from West Town Bakery at ACME Hotel and the bakery will donate 20% of proceeds to buying toys.
  • Check, please! Drop off a check to ACME’s front desk and they’ll do the shopping.

Please note toy donations should be unwrapped and appropriate for children ages 11-17. Sneak peeks of the toy suite are available upon request and subject to availability. All donations must be received by December 15.

Bistronomic's Beaujolais Nouveau Menu The Beaujolais Nouveau three-course prix fixe menu will be available on Thursday, November 20 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Compared to most of Executive Chef Martial Noguier's more modern cuisine, this menu stays truer to his French roots in honor of the holiday. The freshest seasonal and local ingredients will be used for the menu items in each of the three courses that is priced at $39 per person.

Cooking Class

Class is back in session! Well cooking class that is. Executive Chef Luca Corazzina will be teaching “Scoula 312” at 312 Chicago on the first or second Saturday of every month, August through December. Guests will have the opportunity to learn authentic Italian recipes from Chef Luca, a Padova native, who grew up learning to cook by his mother’s side. A variety of techniques and recipes will be taught, including:

Thanksgiving!

Bistronomic's Thanksgiving Menu with Seasonal Produce  - Thanksgiving has quickly become a favorite holiday tradition over the past three years since Bistronomic opened its doors. This year Executive Chef/Owner Martial Noguier will offer a three-course Thanksgiving prix fixe menu on Thursday, November 27 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the price of $55 per person (excluding tax and gratuity). The standout dishes of the feast include the Peekytoe Crab Salad, Roasted Farm Turkey, Prime Beef Short Ribs, Filet Mignon Au Poivre, and Bistronomic Apple Tart Tatin. A Bistronomic Cheese Selection may be added for an additional $15.

Falafill (Lakeview) Open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

Full menu and mezza bar will be available as well as a Mediterranean Thanksgiving-inspired wrap with turkey-falafel balls, cranberry hummus, sweet potato fries tossed in buttered sage, pickled onions $7.50. The eatery will be donating $1 for every wrap sold during the month of November to the Lakeview Shelter on Broadway.

Weber Grill (River North, Schaumburg and Lombard)

Open from 12 p.m-8 p.m. in Lombard and Schaumburg and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in Chicago.

An all-day coursed Fire-Grilled Thanksgiving Feast in addition to the dinner menu will be available plus Thanksgiving Party Platters To-Go for those celebrating at home.

Pinstripes (Northbrook, South Barrington and Oak Brook)

Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for bowling, bocce and dining.

Bowlers of all ages are invited to participate in Pinstripes’ 4th Annual Turkey Bowl and aim for a ‘turkey’ or, three strikes in a row, to receive a complimentary turkey platter! Full menu plus the turkey platter with freshly carved turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and Brussels sprouts $19 will be available.

The Boardinghouse, the River North wine-driven destination from Proprietor and Master Sommelier Alpana Singh, invites guests to enjoy a four course prix-fixe dinner on Thanksgiving, from 12pm to 7pm, prepared by Executive Chef Tanya Baker. Diners will have multiple choices from each course to choose from, ranging from traditional holiday dishes to seasonally-inspired and vegetarian options, as well as the opportunity to add Alpana’s wine pairings for an additional cost. An assortment of autumn desserts crafted by Pastry Chef Julia Fitting complete the holiday feast.

The four-course meal costs $65 per person, with optional wine pairing for an additional $38, exclusive of tax and gratuity.  Reservations are required and are available by calling 312-280-0720 or through Open Table.  A children’s menu will also be available for kids 12 and under.  The Boarding House’s regular menu will not be available

Guest may reserve their meal in advance to be picked up at their convenience or arrange for an in-suite experience. Eliminating any entertaining hassle, hotel staff can service a dining event throughout the evening.

Serving up to eight guests, the Thanksgiving To-Go menu options include:

  • Organic free range maple-roasted turkey or salt crusted prime rib
