Note: The event listings below are taken from the MANY press releases I receive. I condense them for the relevant information and post here. I've not written all of this because if I did I would probably have carpal tunnel by now.

New tequila tasting class at iAyChiwowa! called Hablas Tequila. Each 2ndWednesday of the month from 6-7:30pm, guests will taste and learn about tequila with hands on experience making seasonal tequila cocktails and a food pairing. This month guests will learn how to mix up our signature guacamole.  Tickets are $25 per person and can be reserved at

CH Distillery will feature a guest bartender every second Tuesday of the month. For one night only, the guest bartender will come in and create two cocktails behind the bar: one using only CH spirits and one wildcard with unlimited ingredients. The series will kick off with The Aviary's James Beard award-winning beverage director Charles Joly, who was also named "Best American Bartender" at Tales of the Cocktail in 2013. The full lineup as of now is listed below.

"FRANKEN-FOODIE FEST"! FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28th 6pm-9:30pm (stop in anytime before 8:30, earlier the better!)

Create a never-been-seen-before dish to bring as a show-and-tell! Chat with other fun foodies while adding the finishes! After you have completed your dish, you will have a chance to show it to the producers. If they like what they see, you could have a chance to compete on SPIKE TV'S new cooking competition show "Frankenfood," competing for a $10,000 cash prize AND your crazy dish put on a local restaurant menu!

Here is the challenge: Frankenfood : A  dish made up of many contrasting parts that would not normally be paired together but somehow once stitched together as one, makes sense... AND tastes good (or at least tastes good to you)!

Examples: Upside-down mac & cheese sardine Pizza, Chocolate chip pancake wrapped sausage on a sick, Grilled-cheese-cookie. Think Corn-Dog- It originally was a Frankenfood!

TUESDAY BEER CHATS AT THE DAWSON IN FEBRUARY AND MARCH The Dawson will host weekly Tuesday Beer Chats with the following craft brewers (and one special distiller) in February and March. Every Tuesday, guests will be able to enjoy complimentary beers and chat with the brewers themselves from 5pm-6pm, after which special brews will be available for purchase on tap.

  • February 18th: The Biercée Distillery - The Dawson will partner with a distiller for this Tuesday Chat. The Biercée Distillery has been distilling eaux-de-vie and liqueurs since 1946 and is now the only distiller of fresh fruit eaux-de-vie still in business in Belgium. Guests will be able to taste a selection of fruit brandies, and a special cocktail by general manager Clint Rogers will be available on the menu.
  • February 25th: Stillwater Artisanal Ales - The Dawson will partner with Stillwater Artisan Ales, the nomadic brewing venture founded by Brian "Stillwater" Strumke, who aims to create unique ales in multiple locations around the globe. On draft will be Existent, Stillwater's deep, dark American Farmhouse Ale.
  • March 4th: Tallgrass Brewing  - The Dawson will feature Tallgrass Brewing, a brewery started in 2007 by a husband and wife team in Manhattan, Kansas, a town surrounded by the Tallgrass Prairie with excellent water for brewing.
  • March 11th: Begyle Brewing - The Dawson will showcase Begyle Brewing, Chicago’s first CSB--community supported brewery. Loosely based on the CSA model, Begyle offers beer shares and was inspired by co-founder Brendan Blume’s post-college stint working on a farm.

 Tre Soldi (212 E. Ohio 312.664.0212), a Roman Trattoria/Pizzeria will be offering a special $45 pre-fixe four course dinner menu this evening through Friday, February 28.  The menu, representing the Lazio region of Italy, is inspired by a more elaborate menu being served to the prestigious organization, Accademia Italiana Della Cucina, tonight. And, for an additional $25, each course will be paired with a distinctive Lazio region wine. The $45 pre-fixe menu includes Antipasto, Primo Piatto, choice of Secondo Piatto and Dolce.  2 Sparrows evokes the spirit of 1960s' classic cocktails for its monthly dinner series in partnership with Journeyman Distillery Friday, February 28th. Hailing from Three Oaks, Michigan, Journeyman will bring several of its handcrafted, organically certified spirits to 2 Sparrows to be paired with four courses of time-honored, quintessential American cuisine by Chef/Owner Gregory Ellis. 2 Sparrows' dedication to staying seasonal continues with this throwback to an era of definitive, classic dishes. The Journeyman Distillery Dinner at 2 Sparrows begins at 7:00 pm and is priced at $55 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity. Seating is limited to 60 guests and reservations are required by calling (773) 234-2320.

The Florentine, Tuesday Feb 25, partners with Maverick Wine Company to take guests on a journey through Piemonte, Italy with a special wine tasting class. Kurt Fraim of Maverick Wine Company will introduce the northwest Italian region to wine enthusiasts with a taste of signature wines and small dishes from Piemonte. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase the featured wines at the industry rate and Prosecco will be served upon arrival. Reservations are required. On Thursday, February 27th, The Signature Room at the 95th will host its first Vegan Wine Dinner with vegan winemakers from Grant Family Wines in California.  It's not just for those that are pursuing or already living a plant-based diet, it will be a great experience for those simply craving a delicious, healthy meal.

LUXBAR Principal Bartender Matthew “Choo” Lipsky is pleased to introduce the Build Your Own Manhattan Card, available to guests now. The Gold Coast establishment takes pride in its “back to basics” mentality, bringing time-honored dishes and libations to the neighborhood. This option for guests to build their own Manhattan will help them discover their preferred version of the classic cocktail.

The card provides a variety of rye whiskeys, vermouths, bitters and ice. Patrons will choose one of each to craft their perfect drink: two parts rye whiskey, one part vermouth and a dash of bitters, stirred. Lipsky compiled a unique and craft set of rye whiskeys including Templeton, E.H. Taylor, George Dickel, Russell’s Reserve 6 Year and J.P. Wisers. Vermouth options include Carpano Antica, Dolin Rouge, Punt Y Mes, Byrrh and Lillet Rouge. Bitters include Angostura, Bitter Truth, Fee’s Barrel Aged, Bittercube Cherry Bark and Woodford Cherry. To round out the cocktail, guests will choose type of ice and glassware.

All Manhattans are $13. Guests also have the option to select “Bartender’s Choice,” in which the LUXBAR team will create the perfect Manhattan.
