In honor of Three Wise Men Day (also known as Three Kings Day) on Jan 6th, Tanta will be teaming up with One Hope United to gather gifts for local children in need from Sunday, Jan 5th- Thursday, Jan 9th.

Three Wise Men Day commemorates the journey of the three kings bearing gifts for baby Jesus and is celebrated across the world, but it is particularly popular in Peru and across South America.  From Jan 5-9, Tanta is asking guests to bring in an unwrapped children’s gift and in exchange they will receive a complimentary special dish created by Tanta Chefs Victoriano Lopez & Jesus Delgado.  The special will be Scallops Tiradito: grilled sea scallops served on top of organic quinoa and beet salad with a cream passion fruit sauce.

Shy away from sake? Roka Akor, 456 N Clark, wants to change that. With the launch of its first annual Sake Week January 6-10, the stylish steak and sushi restaurant aims to share the sake love. Partnering with Certified Sake Specialist, Aya Nomoto of Tenzing Wine and Spirits, the Japanese native will guide guests through a sake tasting and brief history of the Japanese rice wine during the restaurant's lunch service throughout the week.

Guests who choose to participate will have the opportunity to taste nine different sakes, considered to be some of the best in the world, for $20 with half of that cost going to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The tasting will take place in the lounge and once the guests choose their favorite sake, they can enjoy a glass of their chosen sake over lunch.
