The Florentine (151 W. Adams) just started offering a new Happy Hour special. Any guests who dine at the bar Monday through Friday from 4-6pm will receive a complimentary pizza with purchase of an alcoholic beverage.

BEL 50 (738 N. Clark) is launching a new promotion on Sundays. Customers who order a breakfast waffle sandwich anytime on Sunday (8am to 8pm) will be offered a complimentary Bloody Mary or Mimosa with their order. This will be offered for the months of December and January.
Leopold (1450 W Chicago) 12 Beers of Christmas – We have been collecting some of this season's hottest holiday beers – even some rare bottles that we have been aging for the past year! Attached is our menu, and once a selection is gone, it's gone for the year. We'll feature each beer at some point throughout the next several weeks and offer at a discount to our Facebook fans and Twitter followers.

Chef Gregory Ellis of 2 Sparrows will take diners on a culinary journey on December 14 at the Journeyman Distillery Dinner, where he has designed four courses to complement four hand crafted cocktails. Chef Gregory has taken a classic approach to the cocktails, and each course is paired with the flavors and ingredients in the drinks. Journeyman Distillery, from Three Oaks, MI, and producer of Bilberry Black Hearts Gin, the only spirit featured in Time Out Chicago's "100 best things we ate and drank in 2012" supports organic farmers in the Midwest that produce quality grains for their spirits. Each spirit chosen for the cocktails represents local flavor and a great Midwestern story, and Chef Gregory's menu will pay homage to this vision. Sable Kitchen & Bar on Saturday, December 15 where Executive Chef Heather Terhune has teamed up with Piper-Heidsieck Champagne to host a special Four-Course Champagne & Dessert Pairing!

David Burke’s Primehouse Executive Chef Jove Hubbard’s upcoming Hot Chocolate Program. After a long cold day of shopping, guests and passersby can warm their chilly hands with a hot mug of chocolaty goodness. From November 23 – December 21, Cup o’ Jove, a temporary pop-up shop will offer a unique variety of hot chocolate flavors with new surprises every week. Cup o’ Jove will be located at the entrance of J Bar, the hotel’s bar and lounge, and will be open each Friday from 3pm – 5pm for five weeks. The innovative recipes are concocted by Jove Hubbard, executive pastry chef at The James’ renowned restaurant David Burke's Primehouse. Some of Jove’s delectable creations include Hot Milk Chocolate with pumpkin, spiced marshmallows and Ceylon cinnamon caramel, and Mocha Hot Chocolate with Bailey’s whipped cream and chocolate-covered espresso beans. Johanna Brannan Lowe, the British ex-pat proprietress of West Town’s vintage kitchenware shop Martyn George, welcomes shoppers to a holiday party with an anglophile bent on Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Those seeking an extra-special gift for the cook on their list can browse the shop’s well-curated collection of culinary objects, all hand-selected by Johanna, a food and prop stylist, for their uniqueness and beauty. For the consummate host: painted china platters and crystal decanters. For the cocktail lover: 1960s-era etched glass barware. For the baker: milk glass mixing bowls and English glass cake stands.

While pondering their purchases, guests will enjoy merry holiday tunes, nosh on royal pies from Pleasant House Bakery and sip mulled wine. The wonderful holiday festivities taking place at the historic Palmer House Hilton in the famous lobby which is now decorated for the holidays with trees, wreaths, and lights and celebrations are in full swing.

  • Holiday sweets - Pastry chefs in the making can warm up with hot chocolate and cupcake decorating with the hotel’s pastry team from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. every Saturday through December. For adults with a sweet tooth, Lockwood restaurant will offer cake pop flights and cupcakes from 8pm until midnight each Friday and Saturday through December.   • Tuba Christmas in the Grand Ballroom - On Saturday, December 22, 400 Tuba players will fill the historic Grand Ballroom at the Palmer House Hilton. Starting at 12 noon, tuba players of all ages will perform “Merry Tuba Christmas—A Concert of Christmas Music,” orchestrated in honor of music professor and creator Harvey Phillips.

The Atwood Café, located on the busiest retail cross-section in the Loop (Washington & State Street), welcomes back Holiday Tea Service this year, an act that has become a holiday staple for hungry shoppers and loyal families.

In partnership with Wirtz Beverage Illinois, Henri’s Spirited Dinner Series is co-hosted by Beverage Development Manager Eric Hay, as well as Thomas Mooneyham, who oversees the bar program at The Gage. Each date is dedicated to one genre of spirit, chosen and provided by Wirtz Beverage. The beverage gurus and their teams must craft five cocktails featuring the chosen spirit and provide their cocktail menu to the Henri team to utilize in the development of the complementing dinner menu. Every dinner begins with a reception featuring a pair of punches – one each by Clint and Thomas – presented with passed hors d’oeuvres. At the seated dinner, each guest bartender creates his signature drinks, which are paired with Chef Dirk Flanigan ‘s French-inflected five-course meal.

Palmer House - Christmas with the Family - The hotel offers an elegant Christmas Eve dinner on Monday, December 24 with an a la carte menu. On Christmas Day, a holiday brunch buffet with dishes like roasted peppered prime aged rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding and horseradish cream. On Monday, December 31 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Bistronomic will offer a pre-revelry four-course chef tasting dinner. For the second seating, from 7:45 p.m. to 11 p.m., Bistronomic invites guests to indulge before the 2013 resolutions kick in, with a five-course gala menu and complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Hash House A Go Go’s New Year’s Eve specials too!  The Gold Coast’s “twisted farm food” eatery will serve its brunch menu all day on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day to allow revelers to either fuel up for a big night ahead, or recoup from a long party the night before. In addition to its brunch offerings, Hash House A Go Go will also stay open until 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve to properly ring in the New Year. Guests will receive a complimentary glass of champagne when they order an entrée such as the 14 oz. Hotel 71’s in-house restaurant and bar, Hoyt’s, will ring in the New Year with a speakeasy style soiree. In celebration of the New Year, the restaurant will allow guests to step into the prohibition past where wait staff will dress the part and silent films will air in the background. No need for bootlegging this year as guests will enjoy a four hour top-shelf open bar complete with signature small bites and a celebratory champagne toast at midnight. Roots Handmade Pizza (1924 W Chicago Ave) will throw an all-inclusive New Year's Eve Party featuring a five-hour premium bar package, a food buffet, midnight champagne toast, party favors, and a DJ spinning all night long that will start at 8pm on Monday, December 31.

Wicker Park upscale sports bar The Fifty/50 (2047 W Division St) will throw an all-inclusive New Year's Eve party starting at 8pm on Monday, December 31 featuring a five-hour premium bar package, a food buffet, midnight champagne toast, party favors, and a DJ spinning all night long.

Slurping Turtle (116 W. Hubbard St.), a 2013 Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand recipient, is pulling out all the stops this year to kickoff the start of 2013 with back-to-back New Year's celebrations. Guests can celebrate in style before and after the clock strikes midnight with the following festive events at Slurping Turtle.

Slurp Up Before the Count Down! Slurping Turtle will celebrate New Year's Eve in true Japanese fashion this year with the classic Japanese action films Godzilla and Ultraman playing on the concrete wall, a Japanese Big Drum sounding off throughout the night, tasting menus featuring Chef Takashi's signature Japanese comfort food and a sake toast for all at midnight. Caution not to be frightened by the Godzilla and Turtle characters roaming around the restaurant - it's all part of the fun.

For revelers looking to get in on the celebratory festivities, Slurping Turtle is taking reservations for the first time on New Year's Eve. The restaurant is offering two seating options at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and diners can fuel up with their choice of three family-style tasting menus before a night on the town, including:

This New Year's Eve, Sepia is pulling out all of the stops with a festive, multi-course menu to welcome 2013. Like his recent Iron Chef America battle, Chef Andrew Zimmerman proves his cuisine reigns supreme with dishes like Sea Scallops with celery root and black truffle dashi; Lobster and Shitake Raviolo with sauce American and fine herbs; and Rack of Lamb with lamb bisteeya, eggplant, Ras el Hanout and lamb jus. All three packages include a four-course fondue dinner complete with cheese fondue appetizer, salad, lobster, shrimp and beef entree and Geja’s famous flaming chocolate dessert fondue. The 7:30 p.m. seating is $105 per person and includes a glass of Lanson’s Rose Label Brut Rose Champagne. New Year's Day Hangover Specials

It Pays to Wear Pajamas at Slurping Turtle! After a night of celebrating, what better way to brunch than in your pajamas? Guests are encouraged to dust off the old onesie for Slurping Turtle's first annual New Year's Day Pajama Party Brunch. Diners donning PJ's will enjoy complimentary cinnamon brioche donut holes from Pastry Chef Courtney Joseph. Additionally, all pajama-clad guests will be given gift certificates valued at 50% of their total bill for their next visit. Participating guests will not be alone - Slurping Turtle's managers will be sporting robes and the employees will be working the floor in PJ's.

Slurping Turtle's newly launched Brunch Menu, featuring their signature Bento Brunch, along with hot tapas, cold tapas, noodles and items from the bincho grill, will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on New Year's Day. The restaurant will also offer Bloody Mary and Champagne specials throughout the day. Dinner service will begin at 5 p.m. and will be offered until 9 p.m.
