Tis the season for parties and festivities, I've compiled a list of events relating to non-New Years Eve and ideas for NYE! I'll keep updating every Friday with new ones I get and any info that needs to be related on the existing listed events.

I would get your group planned early for NYE 2010 and ensure you have a reservation at the party of your choice.

Opus One Dinner at Sixteen On Thursday, December 16
, Director of Wine & Spirits Rachael Lowe will host an exciting dinner featuring Opus One winery that will provide guests with the rare opportunity to experience a guided tasting of the vineyard's world-famous Bordeaux blends. The dinner is priced at $225 per guest, exclusive of tax and gratuity, and seating is limited to 30 attendees. Reservations are highly recommended and may be made by calling (312) 588-8030.

Sixteen at Trump - Lots of Options
Christmas Eve Dinner at Sixteen
On this special evening, Chef Brunacci will feature a celebratory, five-course tasting menu. $135 per person, exclusive of alcohol, or $195 with wine pairings by Sommelier Rachael Lowe.  Guests will also have the option to experience an elaborate 10-course tasting menu created specially by Chef Brunacci for the Christmas Eve celebration. This dinner will cost $195 per person, exclusive of alcohol or $295 with wine pairings. All prices are exclusive of tax and gratuity. Every guest will also receive a special photograph as a keepsake of their holiday dining experience. Christmas Eve dinner will be offered from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Reservations are highly recommended and may be made by calling (312) 588-8030.
Christmas Day brunch at Sixteen is $115 per person and $35 for children eight years and under, exclusive of tax, alcohol and gratuity. Seating times are 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

NYE Events

N9NE Steakhouse and ghostbar for a one-stop-shop celebration. N9NE will offer two seatings, each featuring N9NE's a la carte menu filled with signature steaks and seafood dishes. The first seating is between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and requires a pre-paid $40 per person food and beverage minimum. The second seating kicks off N9NE's grand New Years Eve bash with dinner seatings available between 8:00 p.m. and 10 p.m. and includes admission to ghostbar after 11:00 p.m. A pre-paid $90 per person food and beverage minimum is required. Request a spot at the Champagne and Caviar Bar at either seating and enjoy the added bonus of a Champagne cocktail for the same per person minimums.
After dinner, head up to ghostbar, where the real party will be rocking. From 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. the sleek lounge will host its own private celebration priced at $20.11 (plus tax and gratuity) which includes passed hors d'oeuvres and a glass of champagne. DJ and dancing will continue throughout the evening as N9NE and ghostbar welcome 2011. All reservations must be pre-paid by credit card with an authorized signature. New Year's Eve Dinner at Sixteen
As guests arrive at Sixteen's Orient Express-themed New Year's Eve celebration three-course tasting menu offered during the first seating (from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.) is $125 per person or $175 with wine pairings. Chef Brunacci's five-course tasting menu offered during the second seating (from 9:30 to 11 p.m.) is $225 per person or $325 with wine pairings, and the eight-course menu is $330 per person or $470 with wine pairings. Available during the second seating is a luxe "first-class" dining package including guaranteed window seating, Chef Brunacci's eight-course menu with wine pairings and a Krug Champagne toast at midnight. The cost for this package is $490 per person. Say adios to 2010 with Mercadito this New Year's Eve on Friday, December 31. Guests may indulge in a five-course menu featuring Mercadito's signature guacamoles, ceviches, tacos and more for $50 per person from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; or the second seating five-course menu for $60--or $110 including libations--from 9:45 p.m. to 2 a.m. Chef Patricio Sandoval will offer his regular dinner menu in addition to these special menus.

A deejay will perform in the front lounge and the entire restaurant will be filled with hundreds of balloons, party favors and festive décor to celebrate the start of 2011.

Blackbird will greet 2011 in style with two degustations on December 31.
The restaurant will forgo its regular menu for five-course and ten-course
prix fixe menus. The five-course costs $85 per person, and the ten-course
costs $125 per person. Menu details are still to be determined.

theWIT HOTEL RINGS IN THE NEW YEAR WITH TOP-TO-BOTTOM CELEBRATIONS

The sky's the limit at ROOF, Chicago's hottest rooftop lounge, where attendees will have a bird's eye perspective on New Year's Eve revelry. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., guests will enjoy an open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a celebratory Champagne toast when the clock strikes midnight. Throughout the evening, the crowd will dance to tunes by D-JR, one of Chicago's most sought-after DJs. Tickets for ROOF's New Year's Eve celebration are available for $150 per person. Guests looking to ring in the New Year with friends in a more intimate setting can head to the Phoenix Lounge, theWit's sophisticated, mezzanine-level lounge that offers contemporary décor and impeccable club service. While sipping handcrafted cocktails and nibbling on Italian-inspired small plates from the adjacent cibo matto kitchen, guests will enjoy a live acoustic vocal and instrumental performance from duo Chris and Lou from 6 to 9:30 p.m. DJ Avi Sic will close out the night by spinning for the crowd from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.  The Phoenix Lounge will open starting at 5:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Known for its contemporary Italian fare, cibo matto will offer a gourmet dining experience that will satisfy guests into the New Year. Diners who head to theWit's second-floor restaurant on New Year's Eve will revel in a delectable six-course pre-fixe tasting menu priced at $99 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity. Revelers who want to refuel after a long night of Champagne toasts and New Year's countdowns can stop by State and Lake, theWit Hotel's lobby-level artisanal American restaurant, for a special "Diners and Dives" late-night dining menu. Available from 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., this special one-time offering will include a variety of a la carte starters and a selection of desserts will also be offered.
