Lunch in the Loop: Nude Pumps Street Style

Lunch in the Loop: Nude Pumps Street Style

It's lunch time in the West Loop! I took to the street around the Randolph Theater district to see what the fashionable working ladies of Chicago are wearing.

Office wear can be difficult. So many office appropriate ensembles are so bland and boring that you couldn't even torture me with paper cuts and stapler wounds to wear them. I like to add some fun pieces in with the regular staples to keep an outfit interesting.

At my summer job with the Joffrey Ballet, I was introduced to a relatively young staff of women. On any given day, four out of five of them would be wearing nude pumps. I quickly realized that these heels were the newest staple in the shoe department, since they will match absolutely anything. Here are a few photos of other skin-toned pumps out and about the downtown area.

April Worman, Naperville, wears a classic pair of patent nude pumps with a summery floral dress.

Cherly, Downers Grove, heels throw a spin on the classic pump with a crisscross pattern and a brown, wooden heel.

Jorie Bodell, Chicago, lounges outside in her peep toe nude heels, showing off her bright manicure.

*Caution! Be careful around the grates in the sidewalk or surrounding trees. I saw a woman's heel get snagged right through a grate. RIP perfect nude pump.
