Bentwing Brandy cocktails make the perfect pairing for the Chicago Air & Water Show

In case you haven't heard (pun intended) the City of Chicago’s annual Air and Water Show is happening this weekend, Saturday August 17 and Sunday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily with the epicenter at North Avenue Beach.

If you are in charge of planning a menu for Air & Water Show weekend you may want to consider adding some of these cocktails (recipes below) made with Bentwing Brandy.

Bentwing Brandy from Hanger One is the perfect pairing for Air & Water geeks.  After all it is distilled in a repurposed airplane hangar on Alameda Island in San Francisco Bay, where Navy planes, including one called the Bent-Wing Bird, were housed.

Known mostly for their vodka, the spirits company debuted its first spirit that’s not a vodka on March 27, 2019. The new spirit is a brandy that is a blend of French and California spirits, aged in charred whiskey barrels. It has a floral bouquet and takes flight on the palate, with honey, vanilla and golden raisin notes. As brandies go, it’s more delicate than bold.

The name, Bentwing Brandy is in keeping with the aeronautical theme is sufficiently amenable to cocktails but is also good straight.
