A long standing tradition at Chicago's Peninsula Hotel is “Chocolate at The Pen,” where visitors can devour all they can eat chocolate from the hotel Chocolate Buffet in The Lobby.
When you first see the $40 price tag, per adult, for the dessert buffet, you may think it sounds like a lot but once you actually see the display and dig in, we think you'll find it a bargain.
This is not your typical Halloween chocolate--no tricks, just treats. The Peninsula Chocolate Bar under the direction of Executive Pastry Chef Dimitri Fayard, offers one-of-a-kind gourmet chocolate creations including two-bite elegant chocolate desserts, petite chocolate delicacies plus coffee, cappuccino or espresso.
And did we say, all you can eat!
If you pace yourself, or have a good appetite you will get more than your money's worth at “Chocolate at The Pen.” The elegant chocolate creations go down easy. And to bask in the stylish atmosphere of The Lobby makes the experience just that much better.
For an extra $10, you can order a chocolate martini. Highly recommended.
Other wines and cocktails are also available.
For guests dining in The Lobby or Shanghai Terrace, the Chocolate Bar experience can be added as the dessert course for US$ 20 per person. Just remember to save room for the experience.
