T-Tapp the Total Workout

T-Tapp is described as a series of copyrighted, sequential movements designed to put the body in proper functional alignment. Its special sequence of comprehensive, compound muscle movement helps establish better alignment as well as increased strength and flexibility of the spine, better neuro-kinetic flow, lymphatic function, and increased metabolic rate. Increased energy, mental clarity and overall health immediately improve as your body tightens and tones. T-Tapp creator, Teresa Tapp, says the muscles begin to work like a girdle or "Spanx". I say why buy Spanx when your body can become them? T-Tapp is a real multi-tasker, not only does it get your body in shape but by improving the lymphatic system, the body is then able to properly eliminate toxins. Once the lymphatic system gets going, digestion improves as well. For some (but not all) when the digestive system is healed then food allergies and intolerances improve. T-Tapp, in my opinion, is kind of like a standing version of Pilates with the intensity of Super Slow. Check out these amazing T-Tapp transformations:
Teresa Tapp is a physiologist/rehabilitative trainer. In the 80's and 90's when "supermodels ruled the world" she was hired on to keep models in tip-top shape. After years of excessive travel and time spent with hormonal teenagers, she decided to switch gears and take her mission to the everyday woman (but I should mention there are some male T-Tappers who have gotten great results too). Teresa would rather be apart of medical studies than slick infomercials. T-Tapp is involved in a prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Study, which is now in its 3rd year of clinical trial. Teresa mentioned that, "T-Tapp's substantiation of effectiveness will not only help those going through cancer treatments but help ALL women optimize lymphatic function to help their bodies deter cancer."
Teresa's book, Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes, describes her signature moves in detail. The book also has more eye-popping photos from real life people who have benefited from T-Tapp. I became aware of T-Tapp from Dr. Fuhrman's forum when one of the members mentioned that she lost nearly 100 lbs by eating right and doing T-Tapp. She mentioned she had better results from T-Tapp than years of typical gym workouts. I was intrigued. When I first started T-Tapping I had trouble learning the form. I had a pattern of giving it up and going back to it. I noticed when I gave it up my body didn't look as good and my posture got slouchy. Since Tapping again I have noticed the following improvements:
- Butt is lifted.
- Perkier pecks.
- A recent thyroid test indicated I need less medication and I am now working with my Naturopath to gradually decrease my dosage.
- Posture has greatly improved. I'm standing taller.
- I am now seeing my chiropractor a lot less.
- I hardly see the gym, which is great because I can workout whenever I want and not be a slave to their schedule.
- My Yoga practice has greatly improved. My heels are now on the floor when I do downward facing dog. If you are a yoga person I think you can appreciate this!
- PMS is more in balance (one caveat I also supplement with herbs, but I will take all the help I can get when it comes to my cycle!).
- I no longer experience the constant aches from overtraining from weight lifting or doing an excess amount of jerky style movements like kickboxing.
I have a boyish, skinny-fat type of body. I'm built like a ruler or as Teresa would say a "Combination" body type. T-Tapp "feminizes" my body. Everyone is a Short Torso/Long Leg, Long Torso/Short Leg, or a Combination. Combination body types tend to gain weight all over but one could also be defined as a Combo Borderline Short Torso or Combo Borderline Long Torso. If you would like to read more about body types click here. Once you have this knowledge, you may find yourself walking down the street, body-typing passers-by.
T-Tapp has quite a following with a very active forum. The T-Tapp office is staffed by T-Tappers who have also made significant physique and health improvements. I don't think I have ever used a fitness program where I could call a help line and get form tips from a person who knew exactly how to help me and who took the time to really answer my questions AND be nice.
T-Tapp is not only loved by regular people but there are also fans in the medical community. Dr. Oz, Dr. Perricone and thyroid expert Mary Shomon have given T-Tapp rave reviews. In 2006, Teresa discussed T-Tapp along with Dr. Perricone and Dr. Roizen on Dr. Oz's popular radio program. Dr. Nicholas Perricone had this to say about T-Tapp, "Our obsession with strenuous over-exercising produces free radicals that actually encourage the aging process. T-Tapp provides the perfect antidote. This program is quick, easy, efficient, places no stress on the joints and, most important, it is effective. The T-Tapp system is the ideal anti-aging workout. Highly recommended!" In a recent phone interview, Teresa told me that models were forbid to jog because it would ruin their faces. Some of the exercises were featured in his recent book Secrets to Beauty, Health, and Longevity. Mary Shomon, author and thyroid expert on About.com, devoted 33 pages to T-Tapp in her book The Menopause Thyroid Solution. Mary Shomon is also a T-Tapper who lost 12 inches in her first week of T-Tapping; three of those inches came off of her waist.
