I love making lists. Somehow I find it calming to jot it all down. I had a really bad day yesterday and I needed to remind myself of the good stuff in life. Here are some of my favorite healthy things:
Speaking of Doreen Virtue, Hay House Radio features her Angel Therapy show as well as many other spiritual, intuitive, green and health-promoting hosts. Chicago's own Sonia Choquette goes live at 2:00 pm on Wednesdays. Listen for yourself: http://www.hayhouseradio.com.Sometimes I just need an encouraging word during these tough times. Doreen is gifted with a calming voice that can ground you within a few moments. Her Daily Oracle reading offers wisdom and guidance. I usually give it a listen before I start out my day. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/user/4AngelTherapy.Was it Deepak Chopra or Dr. Oz who made these mainstream? Anyway, I have broken at least three ceramic pots in pursuit of cleaning my nostrils. Thankfully they come in plastic for those of us who suffer from morning clumsiness.I've tried many brands of Montmorency cherries and this one is the best. This supplement can help maintain healthy joints, aid cardiovascular health and soothe muscle aches. It's packed with antioxidants and melatonin. Tart cherries can also improve skin texture and fight the signs of aging. I prefer the pills over the concentrate, which is tasty but really sweet (although is great added to vodka, just saying).I love to support our Midwest farmers. As a Lincoln Square resident I get to enjoy two farmers markets one on Tuesday mornings and again on Thursday nights (both markets are in the city parking lot adjacent to Brown Line Station).

One of my favorite conditioners for the hair. It's actually made with kombucha. It's a bit pricey but if you get on the mailing list, the proprietress Sanandra often has 40% sales around holidays. I find this conditioner makes my hair grow really fast. Photo credit: http://www.seachi.com.This scrub is made with charcoal and black sugar. It is dark and a bit messy but it does exfoliate really well without being too abrasive. Lush is also very generous about giving out samples. I like to try before I buy. I buy large bottles of it from Renalli's in Andersonville at 1516 W. Berwyn. So far their Passionfruit blend is my favorite. By the way, Renalli's also has gluten free pasta and pizza. Photo credit: www.nessalla.com.I have been eating this cake since Karyn's original spot was on Lincoln Avenue in Roscoe Village in the 90's. I'm not over it yet. It's rich, creamy and dairy free. Try it for yourself at Karyn's Fresh Corner Cafe at 1901 North Halsted and Karyn's Cooked on 738 N. Wells St. Photo credit: http://www.karynraw.com.Yacon syrup is a glucose free sweetener and prebiotic with few calories. Every brand tastes a little different, some taste more like honey and others like Sunfood brand have a more molasses flavor.

I just bought this mascara from makeup artist, Sheila Hansen, of the Andersonville''s Galleria space If a Goddess Wore Makeup. My sensitive eyes appreciate the natural mineral goodness from this product plus it really does deliver and make my lashes thick and lush.Every Saturday on the Great Lawn you can experience Tai Chi at 7 am, Yoga at 8 am, Pilates at 9 am and a Dance class at 10 am. Bring your own mat, make it a BYOM event. There's nothing like doing yoga outdoors.I love my rebounder. Instead of coffee in the morning, I bounce on my rebounder to wake myself up. Rebounding is great for the lymphatic system and if you want to reduce cellulite then you want to care for your lymphatic system. Rebounding is gentle on the joints too.You may remember Kristen McMenamy, the androgynous super model from the 90's. Today at 43, she has let her hair go natural and I think it's beautiful. How many super models could work that gray hair?I found these at Whole Foods. When I buy chocolate it usually doesn't make it to the parking lot before it's eaten but with these 100 cal bars that's okay. Flavors include: 75% Dark Chocolate. 60% Dark Chocolate or Milk Chocolate.
