I was in Gene's Sausage Shop (4750 N. Lincoln Avenue) in my neighborhood and noticed that they have a lot more wild game in the freezer: New Zealand venison stew meat or patties, buffalo, rabbit and ostrich. Of course if you prefer, they do have lots of deli food to go just always mention your allergies before making purchases. I have found the staff there to be very helpful.

Also, did you know that food allergy awareness week is May 9-15? The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) is encouraging you to ask your state governor to issue a Food Allergy Awareness Week proclamation. FAAN can provide you with the letter template to e-mail to your governor. E-mail Christopher Weiss for more info: cweiss@foodallergy.org.
Lastly, I want to mention Mallergies, it's a very informative site focused on the latest food allergy trends founded by Marie-Ida Bonneau, who has anaphylactic allergies to peanuts. This week Mallargies has a provided another great resource for getting your game on: Super Bowl with Food Allergies.
