All I Want for Christmas

I've been a good girl all year. I can only do my best when it comes to negotiating with Santa and the powers that be. All I want for Christmas is:
Safer food labels. Life would be easier if labels were consistent and accurate describing the common allergens in BIG LETTERS. I think folks who don't have allergies would appreciate consistent labeling too as we all want to know what is truly in our food.
Better food allergy policies in schools and day care centers. I am not a mother but my empathies go out to all those peanut moms who send their kids to schools. Not all schools have emergency food allergy policies, but organizations like
ELL are working changing that.
More allergy-free options in vending machines. It would be great if more vending machines had at least one allergy-free option such as
Enjoy Life bars or chocolate from
Divvies.
One allergy-free TV cooking show. Why the Food Network ran with What Would Brian Boitano Make I will never know? There are 12 million Americans with food allergies not to mention all the moms who don't have FAs themselves but have kids who do. I think we have a large demographic here that is not being addressed.
An allergy-free cooking school (or more classes). It's essential in culinary school to taste the food, therefore most cooking schools suggest that students with FAs taste the food then spit it out. Not only do you get a degree but you also get an eating disorder.
And one last thing, Santa, a Vitamix wouldn't hurt either.
