Chicago Krampus Events, Holiday Markets, Creepy Theatre, Art Shows

This weekend is looking to be a wild, Krampus-filled fever dream! Dress the part and take your pick from all the places offering celebrations these next two weekends. It's also going to be a shopper's delight with serious competition due to an enormous amount of holiday craft vendor markets happening around town. Movie fans can still get their 35mm genre fixes if not in the holiday mood yet. There are great genre choices on the Chicago stage and quite a few art exhibits!

THIRST STREET - (Dec. 1st-7th) A tale of obsession and aggressive, unrequited love in Paris. Anjelica Huston narrates this psychodrama while the viewer is lured into the moody atmosphere of neon nightmares and 70s-styled cinema. I CONFESS [35mm] - (Dec. 1st at 7pm & 9pm; Dec. 3rd at 1:30pm) Hitchcock's dark crime thriller starring Montgomery Clift, Anne Baxter, and Karl Malden follows the story of a priest who finds himself suspected of murder after the killer had confessed his crimes to him. PARADIGM GREY - (Dec. 2nd) World premiere of Chicago-made sci-fi/thriller anthology by six African American production companies joining forces with plans to create numerous projects breaking the mold for black filmmakers within the entertainment industry. CLOSING: Park Ridge Classic Film Series will be closed for renovations in 2018 and will reopen in March of 2019! (Last 2017 screening is Dec. 12th.)
