Horror Film Fests and Drive-In Terrors This Weekend

Chicago horror is thriving like crazy this weekend in the form of film festivals, screenings, and the big horror fest at Midway Drive-In. Experiencing horror through 35mm screenings or with a live organ accompaniment are perfect ways to celebrate the season. Films are listed in no particular order. Have a nice weekend!

L'IMPORTANT C'EST D'AIMER - (Sept. 22nd-27th) (The Most Important Thing: Love) While not a horror film, this should be of interest to fans of Andrzej Zulawski's work (Possession, Cosmos). LAKESHORE DRIVE - (Sept. 23rd at 2pm) FREE premiere of short neo-noir film by FCHC Productions, directed by Peter Bowse. The story touches on marginalized citizens and extreme abuse of power. During a rideshare experience, a driver discovers his passenger is a transgender acquaintance from high school who is trying to escape the dark world of prostitution. Her pimp (a crooked cop) tries to find her whereabouts and the driver must decide between her life or his own.
