In Chicago this weekend, another great roundup of genre films are screening, along with a live presentation of Herrmann's score of Psycho performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra! There's also a fun art show exhibiting interpretations of movie posters by local artists at Galerie F. Many more events are listed below. Have a great weekend!

MOVIES:

CSO at the Movies: PSYCHO - (Friday, May 26th) The Chicago Symphony Orchestra (led by conductor Richard Kaufman) will perform Bernard Herrmann's entire score of Alfred Hitchcock's critically acclaimed horror film, Psycho. Experience the familiar sound of shrieking violins live! A lecture will be held in the Grainger Ballroom at 7pm, an hour before the show. THE RUNNING MAN [35mm] - (Fri. & Sat.) 30th Anniversary midnight screenings! Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Richard Dawson. In the future (set to just about where we're at in present time), America has turned into a totalitarian society. Collapsed economy, human rights removed, fake news dominating the media, riots, TV ratings having more importance than they ever should, and the resistance. STALKER - (May 26th, 27th, 29th) Brand new digital 4K restoration. Tarkovsky's 1979 Russian sci-fi drama following two men in a post-apocalyptic world who hire a guide (a “stalker”) to lead them through a restricted area called The Zone until they reach a room where one's wishes are granted. ALIEN: Covenant - Ridley Scott's newest addition to the Alien franchise is finally in theaters. Check your local listings to find a screening near you! It's also playing at the Cascade Drive-In (1100 E. North, West Chicago) through June 1st!

SOLARIS - (May 26th, 27th, 29th) New 4K digital restoration! Tarkovsky's 1972 Russian sci-fi psychological drama about a man being sent to investigate mysterious transmissions sent from the last three humans living on the Solaris space station and falling into the darkest depths of his own consciousness.
