“Creature Feature” Opening Reception at Sideshow Gallery

It's always exciting when a new gallery pops up–especially when it caters to the weird side of life. Freak shows, roadside attractions, and general oddball curiosities will never, ever go out of style. Anne-Katrin Elliott (local artist/teacher) and Revolution Tattoo owner/curator Cheri Basak are two highly creative women who have partnered up to open Sideshow Gallery (located next door to Revolution Tattoo), which aims to keep the oddball appeal set to level high. Both fine and strange art, antiques, curiosities, and occult items adorn the gallery space.

Sideshow Gallery presents an opening reception on July 12th for a new “Creature Feature” art exhibit showcasing monster paintings and more. Sponsored by Revolution Brewing, the reception will run Saturday night from 7pm-11pm at 2219 W. Western Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647. For more information, call 773-276-1300 or visit sideshowgallerychicago.com. Join the Facebook event page HERE.

They also host events and classes of the tarot, art, and taxidermy nature. Keep an eye out for future mentions about their upcoming movie nights outside the gallery in the backyard. First night is Thursday, July 17th! Check back here for updates or visit their Facebook page HERE.

While the monster paintings for the exhibit are kept safely hidden for now (as all beasts should), I've added a photo gallery of images from within Sideshow Gallery to give you an idea of the cool things they offer!

The Chicago Creepout is also on Facebook!
