Wood and Cole show importance of stars in the Horizon League

Last night, as I watched Brandon Wood and Norris Cole take over games for Valparaiso and Cleveland State and carry their teams into the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament, I thought about what Loyola and UIC are missing. The reasons why they weren’t there. For the Ramblers, I think the problem was that they... Read more »

Loyola begins anew

Even though Loyola is now 10 games into the season it felt on Wednesday as if the Ramblers were just starting 2010-11 again. Loyola finished off a sloppy second half to defeat Robert Morris 88-71 in its only exhibition game of the season. Butler dodges Loyola at Gentile Center

Terrance Hill scored 12 points for the Ramblers against Butler, but his shot in the final seconds didn’t go down. Loyola head coach Jim Whitesell swore he saw the ball going in. The shooter, Terrance Hill, thought it was good. Jordan Hicks even got a second opportunity to tip it in. But the ball didn’t... Read more »
