UIC's Dorian Tyler and DePaul's Donnavan Kirk to tour Europe together

UIC announced yesterday that senior 6-9 center Dorian Tyler will be traveling to Belgium, Germany and London with a Global Sports Academy team coached by Rider associate head coach Kevin Baggett.

That was cool, but not big news.

Cooler was DePaul's announcement today that Miami transfer Donnavan Kirk was just added to the same team. This makes a lot of sense for Kirk who can't travel with the Blue Demons on their France trip since he's still ineligible to play until after DePaul's autumn 2011 quarter (which ends Nov. 22).

The rest of the 11-man roster includes Gerard Coleman (Providence), Kadeem Batts (Providence), Nick Pascale (Colgate), Mike Venezia (Colgate), Kelvin Gaines (Cincinnati), Jamail Jones (Marquette), Michael Bradley (UConn), Caleb Patterson (Missouri State) and Justin Drummond from Loyola (Md.).

The team leaves tomorrow with games against BC Geel, Holland's U-23 team, Leiden 2 and Basics Melsele scheduled before returning stateside Aug. 17.
