Picking up where John left off

That's the plan.

Basketball is undergoing a revival in the city of Chicago, led
by a new generation of homegrown heroes that are making it big in the
pros, and a swath of new coaches looking to make their mark scouting big
talent in the Second City.

More so now than in recent history, coaches are competing with the
Chicago Five: UIC, Loyola, DePaul, Northwestern and Chicago State for
the growing class of talented Chicago recruits.

It's an exciting time to be a college basketball fan in Chicago*.

I'm excited to be here to take it all in, and share it with all of you.
Rankings, unusual stats, efficiency analyses, game previews, game
recaps, graphics, lists, news, and everything you need to know about
DePaul, Northwestern, UIC, Loyola, and Chicago State basketball will be
right here - just as before.

By signing up to take on the only
comprehensive Chicago college basketball blog on the 'net, I've got some
big shoes to fill. But I'll have plenty of support.

Gidal Kaiser,
a Montana-based sportswriter and Rogers Park transplant with ties to
Loyola and the Big East, will be contributing on a regular basis.

Gidal and I look forward to bringing fresh ideas and content to an
already thriving community, and we're quite available on Twitter (@chicolbball) or via e-mail at chicolbball@gmail.com.

*Really, Northwestern fans.
