In a re-match of last season's Challenge game at Welsh-Ryan Arena, it was announced today that the
Wildcats will travel to Georgia Tech on Nov. 29, representing the Big Ten
in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

The Yellow Jackets finished last season tied for 10th in the ACC with a 13-18 (5-11 ACC) record.

Tech enters this season without Iman Shumpert, an All-ACC second team selection who chose to remain in the NBA draft. They are also under new leadership -- former Dayton head coach and Chicagoland native Brian Gregory is at the helm.

Shumpert accounted for 11 points and three boards in GT's 91-71 loss to Northwestern last season.

John Shurna logged a game-high 21 points in that contest, going 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.

Here's the rest of the Big Ten/ACC matchups (times and networks TBD).

Tuesday, Nov. 29:
Illinois at Maryland
Northwestern at Georgia Tech
Michigan at Virginia
Miami at Purdue
Clemson at Iowa
Duke at Ohio State

Wednesday, Nov. 30:
Florida State at Michigan State
Virginia Tech at Minnesota
Wake Forest at Nebraska
Indiana at North Carolina State
Penn State at Boston College
Wisconsin at North Carolina

  • Well now we know that Northwestern's NCAA Tournament hopes aren't getting any help from this game. Figured that would probably be the case unfortunately.

  • Right, not much in the way of a resume-builder. At least it's pretty much a guaranteed W.
