The final day of the Chicago 5 Tournament features the game of the tournament and one final local battle.
Loyola went to the Jones Convocation Center, but Chicago State still wasn't able to pull out it's first victory. Once again the Ramblers had four players in double-figures as Geoff McCammon scored 16, Walt Gibler 10 and Ben Averkamp and Terrance Hill 11 each in the 73-54 win. Antonio Lofton scored 14 points for the Cougars. Loyola shot 7-13 from three in the game.
In game two of the day Northwestern and DePaul played a thrilling game at Allstate Arena. The Wildcats trailed by 13 at halftime after scoring only 23 points themselves. Northwestern scored 45 points in the second half to pull out the 68-65 victory. The Wildcats didn't take the lead until a field goal by Drew Crawford with 0:29 remaining in the game.
John Shurna scored 24 points, Michael Thompson added 12 and Crawford 10 for Northwestern. Thompson had five assists and Luka Mirkovic eight boards in the victory. Krys Faber had his best game of the tournament with 13 points and six boards. Jimmy Drew chipped in 12 and six as well.
