Juice Thompson's last home stand

Tonight is Michael "Juice" Thompson's final home game in a Northwestern uniform (barring a home NIT appearance). The 5'10 guard from Lincoln Park has been the face of the Wildcats for almost two full seasons now. He's the guy Bill Carmody sends out to press conferences without fail and he's the man who always shows up for the tough games.

Thompson will leave Northwestern as the school's leader in assists, minutes played, games played, games started and will be second in three-pointers made. He will probably finish third in school history in points as well.
Basically, he's done everything that could've been asked of a three-star guard that stayed home and gave us one of the best Twitter accounts in college basketball.
Thank you Michael Thompson for all you've done. Thank you for sticking with the program. Here's hoping you get to finish that career in the NCAA Tournament.
Well, tonight's game doesn't really matter on that front, because Northwestern has to win the Big Ten Tournament for it to happen, but since Minnesota could be the Wildcats' first round opponent there as well, it'd be nice to get a confidence booster tonight at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Three other seniors will be honored along with Thompson tonight. Mike Capocci, Jeff Ryan and Ivan Peljusic play their final regular season home games at Welsh-Ryan tonight as well. All three have made contributions this season and during their careers.

The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. CT tonight with festivities beginning at 7:15. There will be a live-blog here on the site. Ken Pomeroy has the Wildcats as slight favorites over the reeling Gophers at 71-69 (59%).
You can read more about the game at Sippin' on Purple. You can read more about Thompson at Rise Northwestern. Finally, here's a great feature by Scott Powers of ESPNChicago about Thompson and Loyola Park in Chicago. Enjoy the game tonight everyone!
