Northwestern lost again to Penn State on Thursday night, 66-52, at Welsh-Ryan Arena. It's safe to say that right now the Nittany Lions own the Wildcats. Unfortunately, only Michael Thompson showed up for Northwestern. He scored 22 points on 9-16 shooting, but the rest of the team combined to score 30 and go 11-36 from the field. If it seems like Thompson was the only player on the court from the photos below, well he sort of was. Not pictured? Drew Crawford who scored 11 points. John Shurna also finished with 10 points, but on 2-10 shooting.
The curse of DeChellis continues
The Wildcats drop to 16-11 overall, 6-10 in the Big Ten. A .500 conference record is now out of reach and it's all about NIT positioning. Of course, with Wisconsin on Saturday at the Kohl Center, it might get worse before it gets better.
