McCammon wins Sixth Man of the Year in Horizon League

The Horizon League Tournament starts tomorrow and I'll have full coverage of it tonight, but first the league awards were announced this afternoon. Cleveland State's Norris Cole was named the conference's Player of the Year. It's an award he richly deserves. Though if they wanted to give it to Matt Howard of Butler (with a 121.8 offensive rating and impressive stats across the board) as well I wouldn't have complained at all.

The Loyola Ramblers won their second straight Sixth Man of the Year award as Geoff McCammon took the honors this season. Walt Gibler won last season. McCammon was arguably Loyola's best player this season, so having him come off the bench enabled him to win the award even though he played 76.9 percent of the team's total minutes this season - the most on the team. Congratulations to McCammon.
Also of note is that UIC's Paul Carter was named to the All-Newcomer Team. You can view the full list of awards here.
