Over/Under with Ken Pomeroy's Predictions

The official Ken Pomeroy predictions are out for this season and thus it's time to play over/under with the win predictions - overall and in conference - for the five Chicago teams. Also, I'm including the "Easiest Game" and "Tough Game" of the season in the capsules, because I think it's amusing to look at the percentages before the games have even started. All of the predictions are after the jump.

Northwestern:

  • Total Wins: 18 - Prediction: Slight Over (by 1)
  • Conference Wins: 9 - Prediction: Push
  • Note: The St. John's game isn't officially on the schedule yet, because Northwestern has to beat St. Francis NY first.
  • Easiest Game: Arkansas Pine-Bluff at home, Nov. 19, 2010 - 99% chance
  • Hardest Game: Michigan State on the road, Jan. 15, 2011 - 15% chance
  • Total Wins: 10 - Prediction: Push
  • Conference Wins: 4 - Prediction: Under
  • Note: The Big East is good. In straight wins and losses Pomeroy doesn't have the Blue Demons winning until their third to last game against South Florida.
  • Easiest Game: Chicago State at home, Nov. 14, 2010 - 92% chance
  • Hardest Game: Syracuse on the road, March 5, 2011 - 3% chance
  • Total Wins: 15 - Prediction: Over
  • Conference Wins: 8 - Prediction: Over
  • Note: I'm Loyola's biggest supporter right now. I could be epically wrong, but if the Ramblers play like they did in the first half against Robert Morris they can beat anyone.
  • Easiest Game: SIU-Edwardsville at home, Dec. 8, 2010 - 94% chance
  • Hardest Game: Butler on the road, Feb. 26, 2011 - 8% chance
  • Total Wins: 12 - Prediction: Over
  • Conference Wins: 7 - Prediction: Under
  • Note: These might seem impossible, but I think UIC might surprise some people during the non-conference schedule, but the Horizon League will be a different story. You can get to that projected under just by having Loyola go to the Pavilion and win.
  • Easiest Game (Division I only): Toledo at home, Nov. 28, 2010 - 95% chance
  • Hardest Game: Pittsburgh on the road, Nov. 10, 2010 - 2% chance
  • Total Wins: 12 - Prediction: Under
  • Conference Wins: 7 - Prediction: Push
  • Note: The non-conference schedule is full of super difficult (Less than 10%) games. At least 10 at the moment.
  • Easiest Game (Division I only): North Dakota at home, Feb. 12, 2011 - 87% chance
  • Hardest Game: BYU on the road, Nov. 20, 2010 - 1% chance
All of the hardest games are on the road, which just goes to show the difficulty of playing in an opponent's gym. The only home game that came close to being ranked as the hardest on anyone's schedule was Kansas State's trip to the Gentile Center. Still, it should be interesting to see how these projections hold up as the season gets underway.
