Sunday Links

Some quick links about Chicago college basketball teams from the past week.

  • UIC guard Spencer Stewart has been suspended indefinitely, according to the school. The release only says that the senior point guard is suspended for "violation of a team rule" and doesn't give any more specifics about the possible length or reason.
  • I'm still awaiting the official regular season schedule from Loyola-Chicago, though all but one of the Ramblers' opponents are known, but there has still be a lot of action recently. Loyola announced it would play UIC on ESPNU on January 15 and scheduled its annual basketball luncheon for Friday, October 30.
  • Mid-Major Madness is ranking all of the Division I college basketball squads from 344 to 1. It's a herculean task. Chicago State checked in at a generous 234, considering how much rebuilding the squad will do this year, while Loyola was ranked 212th.
  • Former Northwestern guard Craig Moore's blog is a must-read for Northwestern fans. This mailbag is the most recent example. Also, the Northwest Indiana Times has a quick blurb about a high school freshman who already has a scholarship offer from Bill Carmody.
