Great West Conference has an automatic bid

To the CIT.

Obviously no one expects the GWC, Chicago State's current home, to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament anytime soon. (Though Rush the Court could see it happening by 2020.) Still, it was nice of the Great West and the Post-Season Tournament to get together and give the seven teams in the conference something to play for this postseason.

The automatic bid will go to the winner of the conference's first ever post-season tournament.
Of course, expectations are low for the Cougars this season.
This would've been excellent last season. Imagine if after falling
twice in close games to Utah Valley State, the Cougars got their
revenge with the opportunity to play in the post-season on the line?
That's the type of excitement that post-season college basketball
creates, and something that even players at schools like Chicago State
and NJIT should get to experience.
