The Chicago Bulls finally completed the trade of Kyle Korver to the Atlanta Hawks. Coming back for Chicago? Nothing. Absolutely nothing [technically, it can't be nothing which means we got a conditional second rounder or the rights to some foreign player who's 40]. However, sometimes, nothing isn't bad. Nothing generates a trade exception that will allow the Bulls to get something for nothing later, much like the Hawks just did...
I view O.J. Mayo as one of the most overhyped prospects in the NBA. He was viewed as future NBA superstar in high school. He played well in his single season in college, and was drafted with the third overall pick in 2008. Due to a huge amount of minutes and possessions, he posted strong raw numbers his first two seasons in the NBA...
The Bulls have reportedly traded Kyle Korver for a second round pick to the Atlanta Hawks via Minnesota. Several questions still seem unresolved at the moment, but however they're resolved, this seems like a good move for the Bulls in terms of retaining flexibility...
I went on a long twitter rant about finances, basketball decisions, and the luxury tax with the Bulls yesterday, but so far, nothing they've done shows whether they're ready for significant financial commitment or not. The final two big money off-season decisions (Korver/Omer) will determine whether we're playing as a big market or a small market team...
Okay, I suppose no defeat is that embarrassing if Derrick Rose is sitting. The Bulls simply aren't a great team without Rose and will likely lose a couple games to teams they'd normally slaughter if he were playing. On top of that, good teams drop games to bad ones all here and there regardless. Still, when the bulls fell behind for the majority of the game, it was hard to watch...
Could the Celtics look any more done than they have this season? Granted, a compressed schedule is toughest on an aging team, but the Boston Celtics look truly finished. This is not a team that will go anywhere in the playoffs and may even miss them. The big three era is over...
Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer haven't gotten it going yet this year. Richard Hamilton and C.J. Watson have been injured. Luol Deng has lost his three point shot, and after a hot start has seen his TS% drop to 46.7%. Yet despite all these gripes, the Bulls are sitting pretty...
For my first game live at the UC, I got the enjoyment of watching perhaps the ugliest basketball game in the Derrick Rose era. I suppose the good news was that it was a win. If there was a prop bet on John Lucas having a 25, 8, and 8 game this season, I bet you'd have cleaned up...
