The Cavaliers will be picking #1 again for the third time in four years after hitting on a 1.7% chance to win the lottery. I suppose the conspiracy theorists will say the NBA just wants to make up for that whole LeBron James thing by putting a dominant team in one of the crappiest markets in the NBA instead of in Boston or L.A...
Luol Deng is getting a valuable lesson before he free agency. When picking out a future destination, the culture of the team is awfully important. It also may be difficult to ascertain without actually being inside a locker room. A team can have A+ facilities and still have players that aren't exactly on the same page...
Well other than that how was the play Mrs. Lincoln? That's sort of the story last night as Derrick Rose tweaked his hamstring on a late drive to the basket against the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers came back out, and Rose was on the court for the next play but was then sent to the bench for the remaining three minutes while the Bulls clung to a seven point lead...
It almost feels like one of them has to have a surprise injury to sit out tonight's game. I double checked the news three times just to make sure no one stubbed a toe this morning. However, Irving and Rose will match up for the first time in the ninth game the teams have played since Irving entered the league...
Two separate rumors popped up today involving the Bulls' Luol Deng for a high lottery pick. The first from Rick Bucher noting that the Cavs were perhaps interested in Deng for the #1 overall pick in the draft [with the Bulls sending something else as well], and the second was with the Bulls approaching the Wizards for the #3 pick which would likely also return Emeka Okafor in the deal to Chicago...
Chicago found its offensive touch. They shot 9/21 from the three point line and 50% from the field overall. Numbers that would surely equal a win for a Bulls team, especially one playing an Cavs team without Kyrie Irving that would appear rather offensively inept. However, the Bulls failed in focus and effort to lose the game...
The Chicago Bulls put on perhaps the best interior passing display you'll see by any team all season long. It felt like half the Bulls shot attempts were dunks and layups after four quick passes and poor rotations by the Cavaliers...
The Chicago Bulls went into Cleveland and annihilated the Cavs. While the whole team shot well, long time scapegoats Carlos Boozer and Rip Hamilton led the way for the second straight game and are both off to a hot start to the season...
