The great depression

Would the Bulls be up 3-1 without the Noah injury? I'm not sure if the answer to this question poses relief or simply greater depression. Both games were down to one possession in crunch time and had ending totals that blew up due to intentional fouling... Read more »

A blip, Rose induced depression, or reality?

That's the question for Bulls fans trying to decipher what happened last game. Sometimes the ball just rolls the other teams way; your shots miss, their shots go in, and there's nothing you can do about it. It could also be that they merely still haven't emotionally recovered from Rose's absence, however, we've also seen teams that could circle the wagons when their star was out but fell apart as soon as they knew he wasn't coming back [think Cleveland when LeBron left]... The Chicago Bulls have lost Derrick Rose for the season. It's been a crushing blow for the city of Chicago. I've had tweets from people saying they were vomiting, crying, breaking down. Derrick Rose has a torn ACL, how do you like your panic?

So at a minimum, Derrick Rose will miss the rest of this season and almost certainly the start of next season. A groin injury no longer seems so bad. The worst thing about the injury is there's no telling just how much it will affect the Bulls. At a minimum, they've lost any realistic shot at the title this year... Read more »

Will the Knicks and 76ers have a tank battle over Chicago?

With Miami's loss to Boston, the Bulls are locked into the #1 seed in the East. The 76ers already announced they'll rest Iguodala, Brand, and Williams in the final two games prior to the playoffs. Who could say they're tanking? Players typically go out there and try to win games, and coaches tank games by just not putting the best players on the floor. Or so goes the theory... Read more »

Can the Bulls do anything to work through injuries better?

There are certain types of injuries which are unavoidable. Carlos Boozer tripping over a bag, Joakim Noah jamming his thumb on the rim, Luol Deng tearing a ligament in his wrist. Bad luck. Nothing you can do about that. When those injuries happen, it stinks, we live with it and move on. However, what about some of the other injuries? Is their more Chicago could do... Read more »
