  • I would tear it down and rebuild. Trade Jimmy to the Celts for the #3 and the ability to switch picks with NJ in 2017. Take Thon Maker with the 14 pick. Thon has incredible potential. Spend a couple of years in lottery land and hope to get lucky

I hear ya, the problem is, a lot of teams have tried the "choke for picks" route and gotten nowhere, heck the Bulls were one of those teams not really so long ago. I think if you have a good young player you can move forward with under a reasonable contract, you keep a guy like that, warts and all. I would tear everything else down though.

  • In reply to piggy7:

Given the morass of mediocrity that will be available at 14 and that we ended up with McWNBA after trading 16 & 19 2 years ago, I would be willing to take a flyer on Maker also, even though I know nothing about him other than the hype, which actually seems to have died down over the past year.

  • the Bulls should have traded Butler when his value was at its height. Now I think teams are realizing his three point shooting is never going to be there. McDermott is too unathletic to be viable as a major minutes guy. Nikola M is an example of why potential and production with a high attempt rate are two different things. The Bulls have no two way players who can shoot threes. They kept Noah too long. I wouldn't be surprised if they miss the playoffs again next year unless they shake up their roster. Pax and Gar are pariahs around the NBA with their coach choking and badmouthing ways. They simply are not professionals, and should not be representing the Bulls any longer. Blow it up! Draft wise Furkan Korkmaz and Caris LeVert might be best available although both are risks for sure.
