  • Greg Popovich has to be Thibs main rival for coach of the year I think, he's taken a team that's had injuries and were generally thought to be past it to the second best record in the much tougher West. I'd still give it to Thibs, but if people don't want to give it to the same guy two years in a row then Popovich would be fine with me.

On Thibs, imagine this as a playoff series: Thibs coaching this Bulls team without Rose vs VDN coaching this Bulls team with Rose. Who do you pick? I have Thibs in 6.

Good points about the Heat. Also the interesting thing about the Heat vs the Thunder was how bad Miami looked on defense at times. They have some individual great defenders but they're nowhere near as crisp as a team as the Bulls are, the Thunder showed you can break them down. They also just plain lack size to deal with two bigs: Ibaka and Perkins really beat them up, I hope Boozer and Noah were taking notes.

If they can get healthy I feel pretty good about the Bulls chances against the Heat right now. Of course it's a pretty big IF ....

  • Scoring size always gives the Heat fits. Doug took the words out of my mouth concerning Spoelstra, if he doesnt make good this year he might go quicker than VDN in LA. His organization seems predicated on the whims of his stars and less on strategy. Halftime saw Broussard say they lacked championship mettle(meanwhile the Bulls possessed that intensity).

Its excitement building before these playoffs. Hopefully rested, though with pain, our starting backcourt can come together and close out this nightmare of a season. We still have business to contend in the East, but does anyone else besides me thinks San Antonio might just shock everyone and come out of the west??
