Bulls at Heat 7:30 on TNT - reset the series

The closest a series can be after three games is 2-1.   The Chicago Bulls trail the Heat by that margin, and the pressure is on.  If Chicago wins, the pressure swings back to Miami.

The teams will be entering a three game series where Chicago has home court.   If the Heat win, they will push Chicago into a nearly impossible situation.   The Bulls aren't likely to win three in a row if they come back to Chicago 1-3, so the game is crucial for them.

What to do about Chris Bosh

The Bulls have left the opposing PF open 14-15 feet from the hoop in order to trap LeBron and Wade.    Noah, Gibson, or Asik then has to try and rush back to defend a jumper on a pass off.   If they close out on the ground, Bosh takes the jumper.  If the close out jumping through the air, Bosh puts the ball on the floor.

At the end of the day, it looks like terrible defense for us on Bosh, but it's been a strategic decision to try and bottle up LeBron and Wade.   The Bulls might want to try some more straight switches on the pick and roll and bringing in a second defender from the perimeter in order to leave a shooter open.

Especially with the Heat not playing James Jones at all last game, the Bulls might be better off giving up a shot on the perimeter though Mike Bibby knocked down a couple of threes last game when given the opportunity.

In the end, defending a LeBron/Bosh or Wade/Bosh pick and roll is just extraordinarily difficult if Bosh is making his shots.   The Bulls simply may hope that Bosh can't repeat.

More Gibson please

Boozer had a great game offensively, but the Bulls really, really need Gibson's defense in this series, and Gibson's offense has been fine anyway.  Boozer's primarily been hitting jumpers and shots on rolls to the basket on offense.  Gibson's been nailing down both shots with equal ability.

The shot Gibson doesn't have in his game is the turn around jumper out of the post and probably not as many moves in the low post.  However, Boozer hasn't been effective from that spot anyway, so the Bulls really aren't losing so much by putting Gibson on the floor offensively.

Hit the tips

The Chicago Bulls have hit the offensive glass hard, but the last couple games they've struggled to knock down the tip shots.  Lots of shots right at the rim barely missing.

Quite simply, the Bulls just need to knock down these shots and get more second chance points on their second chances.

Derrick Rose called game 6 in Atlanta the most important in his career

I think Derrick knew that every game of the ECF would trump that one, but this one truly is the most important game of Derrick's career.   A win puts Chicago back in serious contention for the NBA championship.   A loss all but eliminates them this season.

Can Derrick Rose bring out his inner MVP?   He might need to be the best player on the floor for Chicago win.  He'll need to beat Miami's traps, he'll need to play aggressive.

Derrick Rose needs to bring a monster performance tonight for Chicago, he's young, he's early in his career, and he might need some growing pains to find that ultimate success.  Let's hope not.

Final thoughts

It's hard to feel good about a game four after dropping two straight, but if the Bulls can win this game, everything changes.   A win tonight, creates a three game series against Miami where the Bulls have home court.

A win tonight puts the Bulls title shot back on track.   A win tonight is everything for Chicago.   Miami's come out and taken momentum, it's time for Chicago to take it back.

  • 1. I would like to see if they can play Boozer and Gibson together for some time to open up the offense a little bit.
    2. Noah's anti-gay slur issues helped Rose a little bit. I think the media would have been all over him yesterday on his shooting and we don't know how that would have impacted him(more pressure, take more shots?)
    3. Will Rose show that he is a step ahead of Durant in terms of being able to carry a team? Durant and OKC just folded under pressure yesterday. Will the Bulls show their youth or their mental toughness?

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Boozer and Gibson is suicide, neither is a center, and it is hard enough for Noah to guard 2 guys, Gibson is too small to even try it without help.

I would rather see Thomas play than boozer and Gibson. and another thing, when he is on the floor, I would make Boozer guard Bosh, so that Noah is free to help at the rim and elsewhere without having to leave a guy who can knock down open jumpers.

  • In reply to BigWay:

I agree with the adjustment of putting Boozer on Bosh to a degree and instead of trying to heavy switch the pick and roll, go under it and have Noah help at the rim underneath instead of using a trap.

  • In reply to BigWay:

I think it is possible especially if they are not playing Ilgauskas. Joel Anthony, Haslem are not 7 footers. It is easy for Gibson and hopefully Boozer to cover one of them and Bosh. Plus, these two provide the best offensive capability for big men for the Bulls. If Noah doesn't make that 15-17 footer, it is almost useless in this series. The Heat are not respecting him or Bogans. It is 5 on 3 for the Bulls offense. That is very difficult to overcome. The extra man is usually hanging around the baseline along with the Boozer's guy challenging anything in the paint.

  • In reply to BigWay:

Tonight's officials are Joey Crawford, Ed Malloy, and Bennett Salvatore
No nonsense with Joey there (except for Joey himself)' Ed is a good official and Bennett owes us one.

  • In reply to Waldock:

lmao! you're right Bennett does owe us on! Hopefully he remembers that too..lol

  • In reply to Bullsfan87:

my bad ment to say he owe us one..

  • In reply to Bullsfan87:

I agree with Jersey. If the Bulls win tonight it will be a major upset. Miami's top three are all shooting .470 or above. And so are Jones and Haslem. That is dominance. Meanwhile the Bulls key players all sport terrible percentages. Even against Indiana, who Miami or Dallas would have stomped, the Bulls team offensively struggled. Players with a history of quality field goal percentages like Rose, Noah, and Deng. The offense, IMO, never adjusted well to what Indiana was doing or any other playoff defense.

Is it the lack of a seond star/SG simply to blame? I for one say no. I think the way teams flair a second big at Derrick, and then fly back to their man or the paint is not that great of a defense. It's in part offensive coaches who have not adjusted well. As I've said there are so many wrinkles they could have done that they have not. Certainly some adjustment would make Derrick go from .412 to at least very good if not MVP like. Granted Derrick could have done better regardless, but he's only 22. Also, if Noah and Boozer don't come back to near what we thought they we're going to be next year then this team is most likely screwed as are we Bulls fans. But the guys this year did give effort every night on defense, and they are loaded with a bunch of good character guys. So congrats on a terrific season, and especially to all the thrills supplied by D-Rose. Someone said this Bulls team is more fun to watch then the Jordan Bulls. Wow. But I do love D-Rose. And Noah gave us a couple of years of great playoff performances, and early on this year was headed to studville. I don't believe it's just injuries that have caused his total evaporation of agression. I hope he comes back to the old Jo next year or he's going to break my heart i.e I'll be pissed off big time. In the end in my personal opinion Thibs seems emotionally simple/immature for the head coaching position. I'd be very surprised if he can develop players and team chemistry long term.

It may be an overreaction, but I look at Rick Carlisle with Dallas, and he just looks like he fills the bill as a head coach that can take his team all the way. And to think the Bulls wouldn't even give him an interview. He mused about it. "They wouldn't even talk to me," he said. In some ways I think Gar/Pax are not that sophiiticated when they settled on goofs like Tyrus, James Johnson(who will be out of the league in two years), and Cubby aka Tommy Thibodeaa. I hope Thibs proves me wrong. He's certainly a defensive mastermind, and great assistant coach dealing with offensively talneted bigs as well.

  • In reply to MikeKeane:

    1. Actually, I am more worried about Noah than Boozer. We have seen what Boozer can do plenty of times and he has been "really" hurt at the wrong places this year(ankles and wrist/hands) and he is playing with completely new team-mates. I expect him to have a good season/post-season next year after a season with Rose/Deng/Noah.
If Noah cannot develop his jump-shot, he is completely taken out of the game. The Heat are leaving him open for a reason. If he continues this path, I am worried that he cannot start unless we get a stud SG. The Bulls just cannot afford to go 3 Vs 5 on offense. It is strange though watching even Serge Ibaka draining 15-17 foot jumpers yesterday. Even during the MJ era for all the talk about "useless Centers", they could shoot those jumpers. The bigger thing which upsets me about Noah is his "panic" mode on offense. He is a smart guy IMO and that's made Thibs put a lot of responsibilities on him on offense. He seems to be not handling it very well.

    2. I do think you are over-reacting about Thibs though. He is kind of Rose in coaching. This is all new to him and we need to be glad with what he has done this year i.e. establish good practice habits, game habits, game plans, accountability. I am not smart enough to understand why he is not adjusting on offense. Does his offense require a stud SG like Ray Allen to function well? Or this is his rookie coaching issues? I feel it is a lot more to do with the talent than his ability. My guess this team is not good enough to adjust on the fly what we fans/coaches aspire!!

  • In reply to MikeKeane:

I think you're way off in a lot of areas

  • In reply to ChiRy:

just about evey point, and it would take an equally verbose post for a proper rebutal, so I won't, but just know you're way, way off.

  • In reply to ChiRy:

Ok guys, lets do this thing!

  • In reply to ChiRy:

Bulls looking the same as Game 3

  • In reply to ChiRy:

Nice start for Chicago, but the 2nd foul on Deng is realyl going to hurt.

  • In reply to DougThonus:

looked like two light foul calls , one on rose and one on deng. love those f-ing refs

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Yeah, shouldn't they have orders to extend the series? I guess the NBA reaaaally want the Mavs-Heat rematch.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

    Gotta be clear path...

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

No clear path foul? What a fucking joke.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Oh my! Great outlet by Noah to Rose for the dunk, another great steal, shot by Booz, and Brewer with the nice shot underneath.

Great run by Chicago to build a big lead.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Derrick- No more 3s. Please, just stop.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    +100

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Somebody from the Bulls need to get hot from the 3 to put the Heat away. Don't give them life.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Awesome start to the game, but Bulls had an awesome start to game 2 and then fell apart in Qs 2-4. They need to find a way to keep the momentum going.

It's great they've pulled htis off with Deng on the bench though.

  • In reply to DougThonus:

Agree Doug. Nice start mainly due to Heats sloppiness and inability to hit FTs (and defenders are not leaving Bosh wide open tonight)

But as you said gotta keep it going

  • In reply to DougThonus:

Did LBJ miss four shots in a row on that last possession?

  • In reply to DougThonus:

good D and ball movement by the bulls.... yet they still can{t shoot for shit

  • In reply to DougThonus:

I think D.Rose's shot is somewhere sitting with Carmen San Diego, Princess Peach, and both O'Bannon brothers...

  • In reply to DougThonus:

Bogans killing the Bulls again with his inept shooting

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

It's not just Bogans, Rose is beyond frigid, Booser missing free throws...all his shots have hit the front of the rim...

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

missed three, missed fts, this could have been a really nice 1st quarter.

shaum, i dont rely on Bogans for much, I am far more worried about Roses inablity to hit shots

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Bogans is a crap ! He cant make wide open 3pt !!

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Rose need to stop jacking up threes cause he's not hitting them, attack the basket!!! Draw some fouls, not smart basketball at all.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Rose spends too much energy trying to figure out what to do. Bogans's responsibility on offense is to run into a corner and keep looking for the ball and shoot when he is free.
As I said before, somebody from the Bulls have to shoot 3s well to have a chance in the game.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    These guys just can

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    like a high school zone

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

thibodeau of course contiunes to complain only about offense... if the bulls just kept losing 60 to 55 or something he

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

OK that{s it, im done with the nba till november

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    WORST OFFENSE EVER

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

absolutely sorry stupid passes are being made and no one can score

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    yank these guys now!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

I think the Bulls are nervous and have completely gone out of rhythm.
Even a lay-up looks it doesn't want to go in easily

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

I have felt they've looked nervous the entire postseason with the exception of a couple of blowouts. Many points in the Pacers/Hawks series they looked like they were playing scared...Just don't seem to have the swag they did in the regular season.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

At this rate I reckon a few TVs are gonna get smashed during this game. Just so frustrating to watch all the misses and stupid plays

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

This is a F"$6465 high school team

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

must be nice to have players that know how to score when needed

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

can we PLEASE get a rebound....PLEASE.....I said PLEASE

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

May I take this moment to say I have never come close to hating a team as much as the Miami Heat and sencirely wish injuries to all their players as soon as possible...
    Thank you and good night

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

REfs just continue to kill us here.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

We are watching th end of the season at this moment

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Rose has finally unraveled and there goes the team right with him... This sucks........................ Shit

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    LET'S GO MAVS

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

is it jus me or does EVERY three point shot D.Rose takes right after they call time out goes in...

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

If he wants to be a standup guy, Thibs should give back his COY award.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Lets get ready for a rematch of the 2006 Finals... Dallas vs Miami

  • In reply to Reese1:

    I

  • In reply to Reese1:

if Kyle is not even gonna look 2 shoot, Thibs should shoot him

  • In reply to Reese1:

Thibs may have won coach of the year but the Bulls will lose because he will not put in Thomas or Butler. Thomas helped them win many games when Boozer and Noah was hurt. He has a perimeter jumpshot. An experienced veteran that is hungry to win a ring. That is the people that you put in the game. They have no people on the Bulls to attack the basket except for Rose they need to address serious off season help.

  • In reply to Reese1:

Kyle Korver is killing us with his passing. It's lazy!!! Thank goodness Noah came up with the steal for the bucket. And Boozer is standing on the other end? Needs his ass kicked in the huddle.

  • In reply to Reese1:

Boozer gets a dunk but he got it by not getting back on defense, this guy needs to go, dont know how but he needs to go. Bulls players getting on him for not getting back on D.

  • In reply to Reese1:

We finish the first quarter shooting 0-8 and force James to make unguardable plays in isolation... yet Thibs claims our defense needs to be better. Brewer played outstanding defense on James during that eight point stretch. Thibs needs to get his head out of his ass. Our half court offensive has been anemic for the majority of this series.

  • In reply to Reese1:

The bulls are still close due to the heat's horrible arrogant play (lebron being a fuckin clown and bosh shooting 3s). No matter though if Rose can't remember how to play basketball.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

fuckin scrub mario chalmers looks to have stolen rose's nuts

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Derrick Rose turning on the f'ing jets there!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    Drose on the Burst!!! DAYYYYAMN!!!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

I hope none of the players are hanging their heads like everyone on here is right now. We need a spark. MVP MVP MVP!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    THATS IT ROSE ATTACK!!!!!!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

If the Bulls were to try this. Miami will be in foul trouble tryin to stop him!!!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    LET'S GO BULLS

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

DAYAMMMNNN! Again!!! DROSE on the FACIAL!!!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

way to get your nuts back Rose....... that last one was a foul too..

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

another momentum no call by refs. def was a foul

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

This last possession is the perfect exemple where rose sucks. He has to take better d

  • In reply to deewaves:

but again they send noah to pick instead of just letting him go iso

  • In reply to deewaves:

If the Bulls can have a descent lead in the 4th qtr. I believe Miami's rhythm wont be there and the Bulls can get lucky and maybe steal this one

  • In reply to Reese1:

Definitely. This 3rd qtr and start of 4th is the most important 16mins of the season. Here's hoping

  • In reply to Jersey66:

Agree. They have screwed the 3rd quarter in the last 2 games and then had nothing left at the end.

  • In reply to Reese1:

Lets calm down. The has always been close all this series at the halftime. Lets not make pr

  • In reply to deewaves:

no predictions just sayin bulls chances would be better at winning the game

  • In reply to deewaves:

Brewer played good defense and showed how sloppy LeBron can be if you disrupt his ball handling. The main thing is again no high risk passes inside the paint. That leads to transition points for the Heat.

  • In reply to deewaves:

got to keep pace for the qtr.

  • In reply to deewaves:

DRose should only give the ball the Deng only for him to catch and shoot, He gets in so much trouble when he trys to dribble in traffic.

  • In reply to deewaves:

    Bulls brining the DDDDDD!!!

  • In reply to deewaves:

Bogans has 6 points....Bulls will win...

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

I was about to post that but thought to stop just short "I guess the Bulls will..." just in case.

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Wow FG% 36% for the Heat. 56% for the Bulls!!!

  • In reply to deewaves:

its amazing how much better the Bulls would be if they had consistent scoring from the perimeter

  • In reply to deewaves:

I count 6 points for Bogans...I guess that means the Bulls are going to...well I won't say it just case.

  • In reply to deewaves:

Nice start to the 3rd. more composure on Offence and swarming on D

  • In reply to Reese1:

Key to the second half? Speed... Just like Ali said... You can't hit what you can't see... Run DRose Run!!!!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

At last a bit of spirit shown. Now keep this level up for the remainder of the game PLEASE

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Give creidt to CJ Watson for bringing it offensively in the second quarter. Bulls would be down if not for him.

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

Bulls would be down if miami hit their foul shots...

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

and be up alot more if they could hit their threes. what is your point?

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

that cj was not the reason for the halftime lead...3 of 4 shooting fine...also had turnovers...if miami hits from th ie and wade doesn't blow the lay ups...we would have still been down...

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Noah can't seem to quick jump and has to take a dribble on putbacks. He keeps getting the ball stripped.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Why does Bogans always looks like he ha a pistol on him at all times

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

B-Cause he was raised on Food Stamps!!!

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Bulls just need to keep the momentum going to the 4th qtr. No collapse like OKC last night.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

noah trying to do too much

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

He's tired . He's played the whole way. Gibson coming in look for him to take the jumper in lane when DRose finds him.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

he has guarded everyone but the Queen of England

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Just like always, somebody besides Rose will need to step up and make a few shot to close this thing out.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Bogans still out there...and doesn't look to be coming out anytime soon...he'll hit one more 3 just for good measure

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Bogans doing a nice job holding Wade, I hope Korver will be on an extremely short lease this 4th quarter

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

    lol leash

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

need a good start to the 4th qtr.

  • In reply to Reese1:

bad 3 by rose leads to 3 by miller

  • In reply to Reese1:

nice to see CJ in there but he's too short to mark 6-6 Miller

  • In reply to Reese1:

nope not a good start at all killing the little momentum that they had. Miller getting hot...NOT GOOD

  • In reply to Reese1:

it's almost to the point to where I feel like ATL fans whenever Josh Smith looked like he was THINKING of shooting from the outside

  • In reply to Reese1:

This doesn't look good. Too close and they have a lead and Deng with 4 fouls. The Heat will go for the kill now.

  • In reply to Reese1:

    +infinity

  • In reply to Reese1:

Not a good start again on offense

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    there goes that lead

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Thibs cannot do this putting CJ and Rose together when there are big guys. Put them against Bibby/Chalmers and Wade. This is more like a hunch set that we need two ball handlers and getting killed.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

The bad start of the 4th is again on Thibs.

  • In reply to Waldock:

agree, KK can matchup with Miller but CJ can't he he wants an offensive SG

  • In reply to Waldock:

    worst FAST BREAK EVER

  • In reply to Waldock:

I hate LeBron's body language...too much showboating going on.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

no way.. he's the most good natured and humble player in NBA history come on

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Has LeBron sat down this game at all?

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

I think the Bulls are choking. You can tell from their offense.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Korver needs to get his shi* together. Stojakovic (for the Mavs) is having a bigger impact than him, and that's really not cool...
He should play with some fire, otherwise his ass could be traded in the summer.

  • In reply to Rincewind:

It is all mental now with him. He is missing open shots

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

He's a shooter, supposedly a great shooter and he doesn't give you anything else than shooting.
He can't be in a slump the entire 2nd and 3rd round of the playoffs. If the pressure is getting to him, the Bulls should trade him as long as he's got some value. There'll be a lot of playoff battles in the future, and you need players who can take the heat (no pun intended).

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    B.S. CALL ON NOAH

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Bulls doing the same crap again. Taking 12 sec and walking the ball and then panicking at the end. However it ends, this offense is crap not because of Miami's defense(it is good)but they cannot adjust.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Why does Thibs insist on Noah on the pick and roll please use a shooter or a scorer PLEASE!!!!

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Why do the referee hate the Bulls That much ??

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

This offense is crap...same mistakes again and again, that's what is puzzling.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

I guess Miami is the best team at taking charges. I don't remember ever watching a game with so many charges against one team, so consistently.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    DAMMIT BOOZER NO DEFENSE

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

can boozer just get in someones fucking way!

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Gar/Pax....please trade for somebody at SG who can shoot. The Bulls have redefined the history of two positions (SG and Center)

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

The pump-fake kills the Bulls season:-)

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

i so seriously wanna turn from this game....everybody hollin to put in Gibson and look what happens...go figure

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Just kick rupaul in the half nut he-s got and finish him off

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Well this is it. 1 min left to define the season

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Rose almost DIDN'T get that one

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    way to choke Rose

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Rose against LeBron and nobody looked to get open...Damn..

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Look for Bosh to get a pass from LeBron

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

please do not give up a three

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    bet heat draws a foul

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

    i was right lol

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

DRAW THE FOUL BULLS!!!! LAST SHOT

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Let's see Thibs's creativity now on offense.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Guys, don't hate on D-Rose man, that's BS. What would we be without him?

  • In reply to Rincewind:

Why rose didnt drive ?? Damn it !!!!

  • In reply to Rincewind:

that whole Bogans scoring 6 points thing is really pushing it to the limit

  • In reply to Rincewind:

Nobody hates Rose. Without him, we would be debating who is the better draft pick...

  • In reply to Rincewind:

He's been driving ALL YEAR. And he shoots a fadeaway? Go to the basket...

  • In reply to Rincewind:

this looks jsut like Celtics-Heat game 3

  • In reply to Rincewind:

Winner of this OT will go the finals, IMO.
Biggest 5 mins of the season so far.
They should try to get Bosh fouled out early and then crowd James and Wade. Let the other Heat players try to beat you.
    GO BULLS!

  • In reply to Rincewind:

OT is not good...we have to produce offense for 5 more minutes

  • In reply to Rincewind:

or game 4, whenever that bad pierce fade away was

  • In reply to Rincewind:

Kerr pointing our biggest problem on offense...walking it up and wasting 10/12 sec.

  • In reply to Rincewind:

    Ego. Stupid.

Sometimes you need to put your head down and drive to the basket..

Worst case scenario is that you go to the line where even ! pt wins the game.

Nobody can stop D when he drives full head of steam..forget the little stuter step, and fadeaways.

  • In reply to Rincewind:

Game over...season over...our offense sucks and our team is done.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

take it easy. NOTHING is done or OVER. Take a deep breath.

  • In reply to zmorg77:

When I say done...they are tired and that's why Rose is not driving much.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    we're not done yet....

  • In reply to bpmueller:

    Ok, Now we are $crewed

  • In reply to zmorg77:

Bulls can get a descent trade with some team for Korver and Boozer. Bulls Management should look for every option to get these guys out of Chicago.

  • In reply to Reese1:

We're stuck with Boozer. Every team in the NBA seems to have an overpaid, underproducing player, and he's it on our team. If we traded him, we'd probably get someone else that is being overpaid and underproducing. It's just how the league works.

  • In reply to Reese1:

for once i agree with you reese1 get these jokers off this team

  • In reply to Reese1:

for once i agree with you reese1 get these jokers off this team

  • In reply to Reese1:

Boozer's defense is crap, but at least he can give you 2 things: points and boards. When he's not doing one he's usually doing the other, so can give us something. When Korver's not knocking down the 3, he's worse than useless.

But don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have a problem with the Bulls moving both of them - along with some draft picks - as long as they get a SG or big that can score and defend in return.

  • In reply to zmorg77:

Sigh...I thought they had a chance after Brewer made that 3....

  • In reply to zmorg77:

I'm proud of what the Bulls did this year. I didn't expect 62 wins. Their win total got my hopes and expectations up. I actually expected them to get to the ECF and lose to either Miami or Boston...But it still hurts like hell to see it happen.

  • In reply to zmorg77:

I hope this years Finals (between a likable but otherwise unexciting dallas team against the douchebag allstars) bombs in the ratings so the NBA rethinks its refereeing policies towards these idiots. At least you all shouldnt be watching, it'll be the culmination and justification of an embarrasing trend in today[s NBA.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

And I like the mavs, always have, but they dont even have home court

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Oh yeah. I'm done with NBA for the rest of the offseason. Miami made more free throws (32) than the Bulls fucking took (22). Some of it was the Bulls' fault for not attacking the rim like they should've, but a lot of it was bullshit ass calls. But I can't put this loss on the refs. The Bulls need more shot creators. That's the difference between them and Miami. The Bulls also need another playmaker to take some of the pressure off of Rose every now and then.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Takes one to know one. You by far are the biggest douchebag on this board. Who ya got in the finals, Heat or Mavs? Don't lie. I know you'll be watching. Let's go Heat!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    38 free throws for Miami

    22 for Bulls

says it all right there. Everytime we try to take command, run away with it, come back, or take a crucial lead, they kill our momentum with those damn calls & no calls.

    Fuck the WWF!

  • In reply to bpmueller:

this almost feels like a sweep

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Yes, it does. It almost feels like a repeat of the Miami-Boston series.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

That end of regulation fade away miss was right out of celtics series game 4... I knew it was over right there... probably because the bulls knew it was over right there and it showed in overtime.

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

In the end it's all the same. I just hope the Bulls can extend the series. Now they REALLY have to take "one game at a time"

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Its time to put the Heat hate on the backburner for a second and congratulate the bulls for a GREAT season, we didnt expect anything close to this so, Thanks again.....
I HATE THE @#@+)!$(!) HEAT AND HOPE LEBRON TEARS HIS ACL AND LEARNS SOME FUCKIN HUMILITY AND DIGNITY... being the best and being the biggest douchebag dont have to go hand in hand (ditto for the other two bitches) I just hope Rose doesnt have to become a douchebag to be the best.

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Bulls are not there yet, but they were not supposed to be. Of course it sucks that they lose to the Heat, but if they're able to get a SG who can create his own shot/offense, they'll improve by a ton. D-Rose will be back with a deadly 3pt shot and more experience (I can guarantee you, that he'll figure out how to handle the defensive pressure). And before you criticise his play, you should remember that he's only 22. 22!
Nearly every great team had to experience some tough playoff losses and they only got better after them. The Bulls jorney has just started.

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Look at the FT discrepancy and it's clear we need another superstar on our squad

  • In reply to BUUUUULLLLS:

You make it easy sometimes for the refs to not call the foul if you're taking jumpshots

  • In reply to BUUUUULLLLS:

or one less ref on their squad

  • In reply to bpmueller:

Korver shooting now after the game has been decided...That shows this guy is mentally not strong enough to focus on the game.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

It all goes back to what I have been saying all season, players have to be FOCUSED...

  • In reply to Reese1:

I would say more than focus ...he was scared of the moment/rival.

  • In reply to Reese1:

    oh, and something else:
I'll be a HUGE Mavs fan in the finals!
Kick some ass Dirk and get the bitches to cry again.

  • In reply to Rincewind:

The advantage Mavs have is they legit jump-shooters who are not scared of the moment as they have been through it.

The main thing is Thibs needs to hire an offensive stud assistant. He looks just incapable of offensive adjustments...I am actually sick of hearing about defense. All dynasties had great defense but greater offense.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Ugh...I can't stand the NBA anymore, full of cocky, overpaid players. I'll stick to my MLS.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Fuck the Heat right in the eye.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

I would blame this series loss on Thibs. He got out-coached by Riley/Spoelstra. No adjustments or trying anything new. Same crap offense every time. Every other team seem to get new starters in and out but Thibs acted as if he had 5 HOFers starting.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    What a shame.
Drose had to do to much and was just too gassed.
Thibs did a very bad job in this series.
Tonight he unwisely came with CJ with Rose to start the 4th.
Lost all momentum. Miller got hot. Rose should have been rested for a late push.
That lineup of DRose and CJ has never worked.
    Thomas??
    Thibs coached like a rookie.

  • In reply to bpmueller:

at the end of the game Korver hits, he needs to be part of any trade that the Bulls make this summer or whenever.

  • In reply to bpmueller:

This is two games we gave away... They should be up 3-1

  • In reply to Rincewind:

If DRose had hit that Free throw. The game would be over.

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

Maybe. No way to guarantee the rest of the game would have unfolded the same way, though.

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

Rose has showed his youth in this series. This is the toughest part of the game to learn...vision, passing, playing against speedy defenders. He can practice his jump-shots and 3 pointers all summer but not this.

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

AGAIN GAME OVER BULLS NOT READY NEED SECOND OPTION

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

Time to congratulate the Bulls on a great season. Thank you, well deserved.

My main issue is I cant take watching the fuckin heat, the most disgusting basketball team I have ever seen (did you see that tough guy bullshit on that last lebitch layup?) win this year. And I wont of course since there is no damn way im watching a game after tonight... so See you in November

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

Had a good time venting on this Blog too, kept me from tossing my tv out the window, So thanks to Doug Thonus for this board.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

This is how all effort teams lose. Come close and expend too much energy, unable to close..,.We saw it with Utah in 90s, NY in the 90s

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

didn't think it would end like this....

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

20pts in last 16 mins. Says it all really!

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

This series is officially done and did anyone see Sammy Sosa cheering for the Heat looking a mess Bleached skin and all.

  • In reply to Reese1:

    probably shares needles with Leroids

  • In reply to Reese1:

Gar/Pax did a nice job getting the Bulls to this point. But they HAVE to get more shot makers to get over the top. No way the Bulls will beat this Miami team 3 times in a row. They don't have the firepower.

  • In reply to Rincewind:

GAME OVER, BULLS NOT READY FOR CHAMPIONSHIP BALL

  • In reply to Reese1:

I just texted the same thing to my boy. They're not ready yet. And they need more shot makers

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

    fade away wtf!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    ok, Now or never

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    Ronnie!!!

    But can we score???

  • In reply to Jersey66:

    Nope. Bad shot attempt!!!!!

  • In reply to Jersey66:

This game will be lost by the Bulls that was a stupid decision

  • In reply to Jersey66:

AGain... what the hell?? Rose ruining a perfectly good strecht by the rest of the team.. he just might have choked away the season (including the missed FT)

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Idiot play, no time to be playing hero, no one's on fire... run a damn play

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Rose should have tried to draw the foul instead of jump shot

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Well, Rose had to drive there and try to get a foul or somebody had to cut. That was a stupid play having a 6-3 guy go ISO on a 6-8 guy.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Time for the D to prove they are the best in the NBA

  • In reply to Rincewind:

Rose got a no call wow

  • In reply to Rincewind:

    damn boozer...

  • In reply to Rincewind:

total bs flagrant, Rupaul you peace of shit

  • In reply to Rincewind:

It is too tight a game to trust the Bulls offense.

  • In reply to Waldock:

history has been made with the latest foul call ever

  • In reply to Waldock:

Getting ready for a single digit quarter.

  • In reply to Waldock:

bout time bulls was stuck on 69 for a while

  • In reply to Waldock:

Please double-team LeBron...he is getting into ISO mode.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Miami running iso works in our favor

  • In reply to Waldock:

    Korver is sucking Big time...

  • In reply to Waldock:

    Kyle has absolutely no confidene

  • In reply to Waldock:

    sorry, confidence

  • In reply to Waldock:

Sit Korver the fuck down right now......... shittt

  • In reply to Waldock:

Korver needs to come out, too many misses. And people keep saying he needs to start? I dont get it????

  • In reply to Reese1:

He needs to make one or two. Somebody has to make a couple of threes to break the pressure. Otherwise, we will have a bunch of turnovers with crazy passes from everyone.

  • In reply to Waldock:

If thibodeau blames this one on the defense again he needs to be fired before game 5

  • In reply to Waldock:

    Someone hurt Kyle Korver.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Taj Just Take the Damn Jump shot!!! No need to twirl!!!

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Bulls big men helping the miami defense out tremendously by taking that dribble

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Three by Rose helps the Bulls close out the quarter with an expanded lead of five. Increased the lead by 4... One more to go..

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Ok so a solid 3rd. Just need to keep the offence going in the 4th (the D will be there)

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Bulls need to watch for the Miami intensity on defense now. They have been playing ok D but seems like they have been holding back.

  • In reply to Reese1:

Bulls just need compusure and make sure they get in their sets early so they don't have to force last second shots. I think we will see a lot of KK. He owes us from 3 so fingers crossed!!

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

    5-8 FTs 3-14 on 3-pointers. I'm having flashbacks to game 2.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

just noticed the heat are only at 37% so we got that going for us....which is nice

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

    another Caddy Shack reference!

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

Doug, Chuckles is speaking on the same thin g that we were speaking on before last game about pace. Like you said they need to speed it up. As I said, spee will affect Miami's defense and will force mismatches. That's the solution from here on out. Push off of the rebound if you can. The Heat is too concerned about DRose getting to the rim. Make them wonder about the defensive assignments.

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

Ok how many points needed to win this one? I say 96

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Bulls definitely need to be in the nineties.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

    Spread the floor !!! Luuuu!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Miami's rhythm is kinda off this game. Mental errors and turnovers. Bulls can steal this one.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

First time the Bulls have led at the half this series. Only 2 points, but still, I'd rather be up 2 than down.

  • In reply to DougThonus:

Great energy and burst by Rose, deng and the Bulls defense...

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Good run to end the qtr. Bulls cant have a let down at the start of the 3rd qtr.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Worst half I've ever seen from Rose until that last two minutes. Hopefully he had an epiphany.

Although that turnover on the last possesion was pretty awful.

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

If the bulls can play that shitty and be ahead at the break they should believe they can win

  • In reply to Reese1:

    New Plan

What you've got to do is cut the hamstring on the back of his leg right at the bottom. He'll never play bball again, because his weight displacement goes back, all his weight is on his right foot, and he'll shoot everything off to the right. He'll quit the game.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

lmgdao! Oh I need the humor now too! That any seeing Lacey's tits. Hmm, at her age now probably would be humorous too!

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

The difference between a seasoned team and a young and talented team.

As much as we hope D Rose can carry us in the most important moments, and when the lights are shining brightest..

I must remind myself that he is still only 22 and this is another game altogether...as they say...young teams must walk through he fire together before they can win..

Even though the Heat and the Big 3 are new to playing with each other, at least in the NBA,...

Remember that D-Wade has already won a championship, and had his seasoning in the playoffs with Shaq to lead him by the hand and of course Lebron has had his 8 years in the playoffs and 8 long years that he has come up short.

    Derrick is 22.

You could tell how Boozer and Deng were not shook at the end of the game.

Rose, Noah, Gibson, and the young guys have to fight through their inexperience, they must learn to love the toughest moments, and come through the fire, together, on the other side before we can win it all.

    This series is not over.

If there is any team that might let their ego's allow a eam like the Bulls to come back and win this series..it's the Heat and the prima donnas know as the Big three.

King Fake, Douch Wade, and Chris Bosh or as I like to call him...The Feminine Worm.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

I think it just comes down to LeBron being by far the best player on the floor. People have fooled themselves into believing because Rose is the MVP he's actually remotely in LeBron's league, when that's like pretending Barkley or Malone were in Jordan's league because they gave them a MVP trophy.

Now he's got a supporting cast it's going to be like when Pippen became a genuine star next to Jordan, the Heat are going to be hellishly tough to beat. The Bulls blew their best chance this year, because if they won in game 2 then the doubts might have set in for the Heat, but now the Heat know they can beat anyone and so long as they stay healthy it's hard to see them not winning multiple titles.

That said they were in this game, they played as good a defense as they're ever likely to play, but two step back jumpers for Rose over LeBron rather than running a play at the end of regulation was a terrible decision. The Bulls might stand up for Thibs now but what the hell does it say about you if you're Korver, Deng, Boozer or Noah when you think about that and think "hey, my coach thinks I'm less than a 10% chance to hit a shot out of a play since he decided to go with the crappiest shot available to win the game". You just have to run something and know you still might not hit a shot, but at least it's a higher percentage than trying to shoot a 20 footer over a guy 7 inches taller that can jump just as high as you can.

  • In reply to DontLetsStart:

Agree...after game 2 it was all confidence on one team and doubt/panic on the other team

  • In reply to DontLetsStart:

LeBron is the best player in the league, no argument there. But I think saying he's "by far" better than Rose is an exaggeration. You're 2nd paragraph is more accurate.

LeBron no longer faces as much defensive pressure as Rose does now because LeBron has more guys around him that can create their own shots. Also LeBron is more experienced than Rose, and that showed tonight.

So yeah, he's better than Rose, but I don't think better he's better "by far." As good as Rose is now, I bet he would look that much better with D. Wade or a player of a similar caliber on the team with him.

  • In reply to magestew:

I really think I'm being more than fair when you consider my comparisons ... it's not like Barkley or Malone were chumps, they're (at worst) top 5 players of all time at the PF position. But they were going up against the best and it showed.

LeBron is simply better on both ends than Rose, and even though I believe Rose can get better with experience, there's no way he'll ever be as good as LeBron, who may well be considered as good (although certainly not as likeable) as Jordan when it's all said and done.

  • In reply to DontLetsStart:

LeBron's size - and versatility for his size - will always give him an edge. I actually agree with everything you said except the "by far" part.

And I wouldn't write Rose off as never being as good as LeBron. His defense will improve because, Rose works tirelessly on all of his weaknesses. And if he tightens up that 3pt shot as continues to gain experience, he could very well be better than LeBron.

Statistically LeBron will always average more rebounds as a 6-8 forward compared to a 6-2 and change guard (not even Rose will admit to being a true 6-3). But Rose can certainly average more assists and, when that 3pointer improves, more points.

All Gar/Pax has to do is get him that Pippen or Dumars type player for the Bulls to have a realy shot at being able to beat Miami in the post season.

  • In reply to magestew:

Not that I think it'll be easy to find that Pippen or Dumars type players. Players that good and that willing to be the #2 guy are hard to find.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

This may be exactly what the Bulls management needed to see. Even though the three losses have been close until down the stretch, you would be hard pressed to not believe Miami has not thoroughly dominated Chicago. The complete lack of shooting...honestly at this point...I would love to have Ben Gordan, or Jamal Crawfod, or Hinrich,...I'd even take Kerr

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Crawford should definitely be on the Bulls radar but don't forget the Lakers will be looking for a shooting guard as well cause they do need some more scoring.

  • In reply to Reese1:

Crawford could probably get more money staying with the Hawks, I don't really see the Bulls getting him. He's also 31 and only really had one high quality year his entire career where he consistently shot a good percentage (last year), so I'm not sure he's a guy to target anyway.

  • In reply to DontLetsStart:

No Crawford please... He is a ball handling Korver and older. The Bulls defense shut him down with so many other offensive options around him.
I feel we need somebody who is young because the mental strength is the most important thing. If not, these guys will fold at critical times.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    ditto

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    you are forgiven lol

  • In reply to DontLetsStart:

This video really tells you all you need to know about LeDouche:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjXQCT47EAc

  • In reply to DontLetsStart:

This game enraged me for several reasons:

    - The Bulls attack the basket like it's got electric current running through it. Can someone dunk the damn ball!?!?
    - Kyle Korver is a disgrace to legendary Bulls white-guy 3-point shooters. John Paxson probably has a bag on his head right now, and poor Steve Kerr had to call the game.
    - The officiating is ridiculous. Joe Crawford appears to be the biggest Miami fan in the building at times. 38 FT attempts for Miami vs. 22 for the Bulls!?!? That's simply ridiculous. The only time a ref took a whistle out of his pocket was when it was a Miami possession or a non-shooting foul on Miami. This league is still a joke.
    - Derrick Rose is quite a disappointment. It's so hard to say that, given his level of talent and potential. But Rose has looked more timid and unreliable in this series than I ever would have imagined.
    - That Sammy Sosa is a real piece of shit. Anyone catch that asshole in the crowd tonight?

Hey Sammy, button your fuckin' shirt!

Really, after all Chicago did for that cheating scumbag, he repays us by dressing up like a Mafioso and BLATANTLY rooting for the Heat? At least when Michael Jordan rooted for North Carolina when they played Illinois in the 2005 National Championship he did it with some humility. Stay in Miami, Sosa, and don't expect much sympathy when your heart explodes from all the steroids in a few years.

    I apologize for the vulgarity.

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

That's one thing I feel confident looking at the future of Chicago. From my observations, teams like Atlanta, Orlando would lose some games big in playoffs or those kind of teams went away after their deep playoff run. But, teams which gave a fight in all games and come close usually show that they cannot finish the game and have to learn it.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

I was only joking about Crawford...really about all of them b/c there is no way this current team is assembled if we still had those players. I did notice however no said anything about Gordan. Does anyone have Brad Miller's number???

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Rose reminded me of Westbrook and Durant last night. He played his heart out but his inexperience showed at the end. I'm officially on the "trade Korver" bandwagon now. If he's not knocking down 3's he's an absolute liability. He might be an attractive addition to include in some kind of trade package to find that guy who can knock down shots AND play half-decent defense.

  • In reply to magestew:

Bulls need a 2 way 2 guard. We saw tonight how awesome Brewer could be if he got major minutes. Why the hell diod Thibs wait so long though?

  • In reply to magestew:

You need Korver against the Pacers or the regular season games. He just cannot play against a fast defense or too much in the spotlight.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

And that's when we need him the most.

  • In reply to HollywoodKole:

Ain't over yet. Not ready to make my end of the year appreciation speach. If these D Bags can win 3 in a row, we can god damn win 3 in a row. Just win game 5. Its not over. Win 5, pressure on them in game 6, game 7's a blowout. After tinght though, Thibs needs to give these guys a light walkthrough tomorrow. No pressure now, everyone thinks they're already toast. Well I like my toast damn crispy, & this shit ain't done!

Win or its time to go home. Well, it looks like its time to win.

  • In reply to ChiRy:

i still believe chiry its really just one game at a time now but its also win or home.... so win and lets go back to miami damn it!

  • In reply to jaymccray:

damn straight ! GAME 5 IS OURS!!!!!

  • In reply to Reese1:

Its a 3 point lead but Bulls have no rhythm. now 6 point lead

  • In reply to Reese1:

Get Kyle Korver off of the floor. He can't f#ckin defend...

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

I can take the Bulls losing - But not like this!!

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Its drive me crazy the way this team is playing ? Rose isnt playing like a mvp !!

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    SORRY SORRY SORRY BULLS

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

    I said PLEASE

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

Here's your Boozer and Taj lineup

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

CJ is killing it right now. Channel that Nuggets game performance in December

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

CJ doing his best to save the season...

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

I said it earlier and agree with ixonflex69, next season can.t come quick enough. The Bulls should have some better offensive players

  • In reply to ixonflex69:

I'm curious to see the lineup for the 2nd quarter. Deng and Watson, or will he leave Rose in there...

  • In reply to DougThonus:

Worst possible finish to the qtr!!!

  • In reply to DougThonus:

11 point lead gone that quick because of poor shooting.

  • In reply to Reese1:

and most were good looks or FTs

  • In reply to DougThonus:

I hate the fact we pulled Deng for 2 fouls. He averages 2 fouls per 36. Odds are if you played him the rest of the game he would still not foul out.

  • In reply to MikeKeane:

If anyone is without cable -- like me -- TNT is streaming tonight's game free of charge. Gotta be better than those creepy offshore streaming sites:

  • In reply to Bullsfan87:

what did he do? Was he the guy with the sequence in the 2nd quarter of the 2nd game?

  • In reply to BigWay:

Just read that Omer skipped shootaround and is a game time decision. If he's not effective, let's hope for a huge night from Big Sexy! Rebounds, 15 footers, steals, and hard fouls might be just what Miami needs!

  • In reply to kayak0109:

So much of this game is psychological especially with Bosh and LeBron. I hope somebody scares Bosh a little bit so he gets tentative. He seems to be on a high in this series.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

+100! I'm not saying I like seeing flagrant fouls that get players injured...but, I would love to see Bosh get rattled a little bit by big sexy. He could be our mix up tonight, throw him in there to clog up the lane, Miami will NOT get any and 1's with him in the middle.

  • In reply to bpmueller:

Definitely, he could be for game 4 what Haslem was for game 2!

  • If the Bulls have any gas in the tank, they need to light a match and drop it in. Let's get this thing done, boys!

  • At about 10:30 tonight we're either going to feel great or despondent. Gonna be a long day.

  • In reply to Nossem:

    here here!

lool. i hope we will feel great.

  • I really hope they get off to a nice start tonight. They need something to feel good about after the last couple of games. It would be huge if Bogans could nail a couple of early threes. It seems like any time he hits some open jumpers early, the offense opens up.

Do whatever it takes tonight and find a way to get it done boys. Go Bulls.

  • In reply to BearDown1982:

2 fouls on Boozer in the first 2 minutes would be a great start.

  • In reply to BigWay:

looooooooooooooooool. lmao. no if boozer play the way he played last game then we need him.

  • " He might need to be the best player on the floor for Chicago win"?? DRose MUST be the best player on the court tonight. I think he's going to bring it, MJ-style. Kid's clutch. I know he'll at least go to the cup a lot more and hopefully his J is falling.

Otherwise, the entire Bulls team must be very physical tonight. They are a bigger, stronger, deeper team. It's time to show it, on the boards, on D and going strong to the hoop.

I also think Deng will have a big game. He's sneaky clutch. Go Bulls!

  • Rose is still just 22 and although his outward demeanor doesn't show it I am sure he get frustrated, as any baller would, when he goes to the rack draws contact and seldom gets the call. I wont say the B3 are getting a ton of superstar calls but I sure dont think Rose has. Rose still has rather large ups and downs so lets hope he has some early positive plays that lift him to play with the supreme confidence he displayed in so many games this season.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

He definitely hasn't been getting the calls. When he does get calls you can see his confidence on offense soar cause he knows he's either going to make the basket or go to the line whenever he drives. Hopefully he gets some early calls tonight to get things rolling.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

The key is our 3 pt shooting. We have to get about 8-9 threes made to open up the floor and Rose has to have about 2-3 of those. If Rose makes those, it not only opens up space, it improves his confidence and it usually comes at a time where that deflates the other team a little bit.
On defense, they need to cover the hot shooter whoever it is ...Wade, Bosh or LeBron by a double team.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

I agree, we need Bogans, Deng, Korver, and Rose to hit their threes at a decent clip.

  • In reply to DougThonus:

agreed. I donT get why Thibs doesnT play Korver more. He should play the whole 4th quarter. We know he isnt a good defender but in this series it's offense which makes the difference since both teams are great defensively.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

I'll state the obvious here. A loss tonight..and we can start thinking about the offseason. Which really sucks because to me this is the bulls best opportunity to win a ring. I think the bulls would beat dallas in 7 games. MIA (bench) will only get better going forward but so will the bulls..people will want to play here and there, but the difference is that the bulls only have one legit superstar and they need another 15-20ppg scorer if their going to mess with MIA,OKC,NYK. I went off on a rant there but seriously the bulls need to win tonight to regain momentum like doug stated. I've said all along im taking the bulls in 7 games and i wont change now. So GO BULLS..

  • In reply to StephanH:

If the bulls don'T beat miami this playoffs. i'm afraid that they can't beat them in the upcoming years.
Miami mustn't win the championship this year, it's about the health of the league !!

  • In reply to StephanH:

Let's go bulls !! TODAY IS DO OR DIE !!!

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

Well this is it. I honestly believe lose tonight and we go fishing win and we live to fight another day.

Is this the time to be thankful for the season we have had so far and say "well done chaps" in my best english accent? Or is it the time to let my heart over-rule my head and say we can do it, I still believe?

I will be disappointted if we lose tonight but not unhappy for the season as a whole. ECF became the aim at the all-star break and we have achieved that. Like many Heat haters (and I feel the same way about how Lakers got Pau) there is always going to be the heart over head moment but I do agree with others here that the Bulls are short by one dominant/experienced player. With Haslem back and a shortening of the rotation I thing the Heat are now placed to play at their full potential so there is NO disgrace losing to such a potent team though it pains me to say it.

I really want the Bulls to win tonight. It would be a major upset, but it is more above proving the doubters wrong. Even if we go on to lose the series I wouldn't care so long as we can do the nigh on impossible and win, in Miami, with their team at full strength and playing as well as they can.

    This is our Rocky moment,

    our Hoosiers time...

    [Just before the big game]
Preacher Purl: And David put his hand in the bag and took out a stone and slung it. And it struck the Philistine on the head and he fell to the ground. Amen

    Go Bulls

  • In reply to Jersey66:

Just watched Rudy yesterday and I sure hope the Bulls PLAY LIKE A CHAMPION TONIGHT regardless of the results. They have less overall talent but when they come together as a team they will always have a chance compared to the all-about-me Heat.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

That's funny! I watched The Miracle last night probably for the same reasons you watched Rudy.

"Great moments are born from great opportunity. That's what you have here tonight boys. That's what you've earned here tonight. 1 game. If we played em 10 times they might win 9, but not this game. Not tonight. Tonight we skate with them, tonight we stay with them and tonight we SHUT THEM DOWN BECAUSE WE CAN!"

    Go Bulls!

  • In reply to kayak0109:

Sorry for the re-post. It didn't show up after the first time I posted, so I didn't think it worked.

  • In reply to kayak0109:

No, it deserved to be said twice. What a great movie, Rudy too.

  • In reply to kayak0109:

Let's wait until tomorrow to bust out the nostalgic comments! I think the Bulls can tie it up tonight. Few of my keys to the game:

-Rose needs to get to the line. ATTACK!
-Deng, Korver, Bogans need to hit their open 3's.
-Noah needs to bring the energy and get tips.
-Boozer needs to hit his jumpers.
-Bench Mob, just tear it up!

    GO BULLS!

  • In reply to bpmueller:

    +1

  • In reply to bpmueller:

    yes to all this

  • In reply to bpmueller:

    Agreed!

  • In reply to bpmueller:

The trouble with the last two games is the same that we have seen in many games this season: when their early offense sputters, they start playing tight from the beginning, and don't have the extra fuel in the emotional tank at the end of the games. They NEED to play from ahead, not behind; somehow they need to generate more successful early offense. The last two games, we missed SO MANY "bunny" shots (Carlos and Jo in particular) in the opening minutes, it set a trend that went on all game with missed lay-ups and tip-arounds... somehow, we need to get on top of that scoring, confidence, see the ball go THROUGH the damn net FEELINGS early in the game. Put them on their heels, see how they like the pressure... I'm not sure how you do that, whether Big Sexy can make the difference, do you start Taj or Korver, go to Jo in the post, SOMEHOW try something different or urgent for the first few minutes... what the hell. Any ideas? Heck, CJ's been very defensive lately, start HIM and let him play the first 5 minutes, see if he spaces the floor differently... catch them by surprise, ANYTHING.

I wonder if Thib's has it in him. Oh well, he's a rookie and learning fast too, I hope...

  • In reply to bpmueller:

    +100 !!!

  • In reply to Jersey66:

Going back to preseason, the Bulls have surpassed even the loftiest expectations from that point in time.

The Heat, Celtics and Magic were to be the elite teams, with the Bulls fighting for seeding position with Atlanta and Milwaukee. You would have been laughed at for predicting what has transpired this year

  • In reply to BullsMan:

I have to agree, title or not (and there's still a chance), this has been my favorite Bulls season as a fan. I also was a fan during the Jordan years and they were great, but nothing compares to this team. It's flawed, no doubt, but what team isn't. Outside of Boozers horrible rotations on defense, this team is so likeable that you can't help but root for them.

    Tie it up tonight boys!

  • In reply to kayak0109:

There is a lot of smack talked about Boozer...but he seems to be a pretty decent teammate. BTW, there is some positive for his non-jumping ability...he should be not biting for pump-fakes like Noah, Gibson, Rose keep doing;-).

Mental focus and toughness is the most important thing for the Bulls. Look at how OKC folded yesterday. This game will tell me if we can depend on Rose and Noah to take the Bulls to multiple championships.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

I agree about Booz, he seems to be a good cheerleader on the sidelines. Teammates seem to like him. He definitely doesn't seem to be a head case like some other guys out there, so it could be worse.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

There's alot I really want to say about this series but I will save my real comments til after the game. This is a must win for the Bulls but the Heat will be treating game 4 as a must win as well. Thibs is suppose to be the COY, he need to start acting like it, give the Heat some different looks. Play Gibson more, Give Thomas some minutes, the Bulls need to get up in Miami's grill meaning get up in their face, try not to let them have no spaceing. Rose need to be more aggressive, attack the basket and have someone hanging back on defense when he attacks the basket just in case he misses or his shot gets blocked so Wade and James can't get out on the break. It would be nice to see Rasul Butler get some minuets, just give the Heat some different looks cause as of now theyre game plan to stop the Bulls is easy... double team Rose, get the ball out of Rose hands by trapping him, look for the charge on Rose when he attacks the basket. The Bulls role players have to step up. Having an effective 2 guard or having another go to scorer has always been my argument about the Bulls and unfortunately it's starting to show now. I'm sure there's going to be a lockout but for me...next year can't come quick enough cause I'm sure the Bulls management will get a player or players that can help Rose on the offensive side of the ball cause watching this team in critical situations to score is very very painful to watch. This is the biggest game of the season for the Bulls as far as I'm concerned cause a Bulls win means the presure goes back on Miami and home court advantage swings back to the Bulls. Things are not looking good but hopefully the Bulls can put together a game plan to get this series tied again.

  • In reply to Reese1:

if we do lose reease1 stay away from here please debbie downer

  • In reply to jaymccray:

Man please... I have been on here longer than you and I'm just being a realist and not a homer fan. However I do hope the Bulls can win tonight but as I said before...NOT LOOKING GOOD. I may be a debbie downer but it is what it is, the consistency is not there for the Bulls role players.

  • In reply to Reese1:

And talent is more than likely to win over young and potential, just sayin...

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

as d-rose will say i dont care about stats i just want to win well young mvp go will your team to a huge victory

  • In reply to jaymccray:

exactly right, time for the MVP to step up and force some more of those Jordan comparisons.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

in order to bite on a pump fake you actually have to be playing defense on somebody and close enough to him to think that jumping might matter. Boozer fails on both counts, but your right at least he never commits any defensive fouls, as I have pointed out before.

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Tonight, we find out if this young team understands the magnitude of their situation.

I can accept playing well, and just getting beat by a better team.
But if we play like we did in game 3 again, that will pretty much spell the end.

  • In reply to kayak0109:

its like picking your favorite child though. This team is like the baby of the family.

  • I expect huge effort from the start, I just hope it doesn't result in stupid fouls and foul trouble.

Also very interested in if Thibs makes any significant adjustments. I have seen huge changes with the Heat this series, no Big Z and little Jones. I was actually very worried it would be Jones killing us with threes all series not Posh. Does Thibs have any tricks left? Hope so.

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

    He should limit noah

  • In reply to UnstopaBull:

He should limit noah's minutes. Noah hasn't been defending well on Bosh. He helps too much and leaves his guy open but he looks to forget his guy is an allstar.

  • I think now that the ridiculously spaced out schedule is over, tonight might be the first time we see the Bulls depth advantage. The every other day schedule definitely favors them IMO.

  • In reply to kayak0109:

Hopefully it's not too little too late in terms of condensing the schedule.
