The Bulls no longer get to see the friendly face of Kirk Hinrich on the team with a bottom feeder and instead will need to face him four more times when they play the Hawks.
Now we're down to just the John Wall show, and maybe Javale McGee can replicate his three ball dunk to get a six point play for Chicago. Of course it will take him seven tries, so the overall efficiency of it won't help out the Wizards.
Quite simply, this is a game, the Bulls should win, but as I've said before, there are no safe games for this team on the road.
Keys to the game
Keep the pace slow
The Wizards have a whole lot of athletes out there with John Wall, Javale McGree, Nick Young, and Rashard Lewis (athletic for a four). Don't get into a sloppy up an down game against this team, because they can make runs in those conditions. Instead, force them to play patient half court offense / defense where athleticism isn't as important, and you our superior discipline will win out.
Derrick Rose will blow up John Wall
Rose previously made comments about how he wanted to make sure to win the matchup. I think he probably felt a bit disrespected with all the talk this summer about how Wall had a higher ceiling than him, and he's ready to shove it in Wall's face every time they go up each other for the rest of history.
He's already dominated a bunch of other top tier PGs, and the Wizards help defense isn't disciplined enough to slow Derrick down.
Boozer better get his butt out there on Rashard Lewis or it's Gibson time
Boozer's had his issues with stretch fours, and he's rarely played ones who back it out all the way to the three point line. I'm ready for a healthy dose of Taj Gibson if Boozer isn't up to the task of defending the three point line.
While Boozer is in the game, he should exploit the fact that he's a whole crapload tougher than Rashard Lewis and beat him down in the post and on the glass.
Don't fall into a lull
Look, I get it, you're not at peak energy every night. However, the Bulls have started off many of their road games extremely flat. The Bulls don't need to play their best ball to win most likely, but they can't come out half-assing it either figuring the win is in the bag.
Practice good ball movement and team offense
The Wizards have a lousy team defense, and as such, are particularly vulnerable to ball movement and off-ball movement. Limit isolations and simply run the team offense, and the Bulls should have a big night.
Just go in there and get the win. This shouldn't be a difficult game, let's hope it turns out that way.
