The Bulls aren't investigating Carlos Boozer's hand injury, as a published report claimed over the weekend.
What are they supposed to do, interview the gym bag Boozer said he tripped over?
some skepticism exists regarding Boozer's story. Some fans are even
taking Boozer's recent divorce -- which was settled amicably, by the way
-- and noting that his injury is called a "boxer's fracture" and adding
two plus two to get five: He punched a wall for sure!
for sure: Boozer's right knuckles had no cuts or swelling or redness on
them when he met with team physicians after the injury, which occurred
on Oct. 2.
Well I'm glad the Bulls aren't looking into it, and while a lack of bruises or cuts on the knuckles don't prove he didn't punch a wall or some other such thing, it's certainly likely that the rest of his hand would have had some type of markings to indicate that type of trauma on them if he did.
I'd also note, that as of Friday, when they showed a closeup of his hand in the cast, there were no noticeable wounds on the non-casted fingers. Obviously, it's nothing anyone except Boozer could really know for 100% certain, but given the only evidence there is would suggest that he's telling the truth there's no reason to go into it.
I'm glad that this isn't an issue outside of a skeptical fanbase that's merely distraught at losing their new player for two months.
