According to our source, the Chicago Bulls are Anthony's top choice and for obvious reasons.....
The Bulls
have had an active summer, and the signing of Carlos Boozer, Ronnie
Brewer and Kyle Korver makes them a top 4 team in the East. The addition
of Anthony puts them into the discussion with the NBA's elite along
with the Lakers, Magic and Miami Heat.Derrick Rose has shined all summer for
Team USA, and is solidifying his place amongst the NBA's elite point
guards. Joakim Noah is one the league's best young centers, and new
coach Tom Thibodeau is a career NBA guy that was the architect behind
the 2008 NBA Champion Boston Celtics vaunted defense. The Bulls have some enticing pieces to
offer the Nuggets, who are essentially "re-branding" themselves from top
to bottom. Once known as the "Thuggets", Denver's combustible mix of
Anthony, JR Smith and Kenyon Martin has been toxic at times, and it's
apparent that the trio has worn out it's welcome in Denver.By sending Deng and Gibson to the
Nuggets, Denver would add one of the NBA's best defensive small
forwards, and a promising power forward that nearly averaged a
double-double as a rookie. Denver should be about accumulating assets
at this point, and young talent and draft-picks are a great foundation
for their future.
Do I buy that these guys have legit sources? No, I do not.
Still, there are plenty of reasons that Carmelo should want to come to Chicago, so I won't completely dismiss the idea that he wants to come here even if I don't buy into the fact that this guy has a legit source close to Carmelo (as they even hedge their own words a bit).
Yeah, we're in Carmelo overkill, but I hadn't seen any other articles really linking Chicago to Carmelo in terms of Carmelo wanting to end up here.

I guess after the LeBron FA drama, there is a new rumor news cycle for superstar trades/FA signings.
But that said, I am guessing if Melo is coming to the Bulls it will be during the Feb deadline or during the FA period for a S & T and not before training camp. And the Bulls will be pushed hard for Noah by the Nuggets. So, this seems like a MrHappy source.
Noah is the deal breaker, no Noah that's a given
I'd have a hard time believing Carmelo would come here as if contending was the main concern he wouldn't want to go anywhere.
The Bulls with Carmelo are a much greater contender than Denver's current team with him - I don't think its even a debate.
I wouldn't say that's necessarily true, but the point the point I'm trying to make is that the move doesn't seem to be motivated by winning.
Here we go again...
I will not believe it until it gains some real steam and it comes from Carmelo himself. Who is the jerseychaser anyway?
I think he kind of picks his destination. I don't know if that will mean tampering in a way and Stern might be strict on that. Why would Minnesota or Golden State or Clippers give up good pieces for a rental unless they are complete idiots or there is some unknown reason.
So it has to be a happy combination and compromise of teams which have a chance of contending so that Melo will resign and also have good pieces to give up for Denver to be happy. That might never happen when Denver has to give away their biggest asset....
I don't think the Bulls will get Melo, but Deng, Gibson, Asik, picks 2011 and Bobcats would be a pretty aggressive offer. Then the Bulls could try to sign a cheap big like Earl Barron (if he haven't signed elsewhere yet) to fill out their frontcourt depth.
That would be massively over agressive and leave us with nothing more than a starting lineup especially upfront, which is where you beat the Heat and compete with the Lakers. Not making that deal.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......mmm.
Another good weekend for Mrhappy indeed Hmmmmm
BUSINESS was GOOD.....mmm.
LOL, not this all over again. My heart cannot take the speculation of another Superstar having the Bulls as his #1 choice, and then getting jilted at the alter ;)
Business is good, I see...haha.
If the Bulls can put together a package to get Melo while holding onto Noah, I think they have to make the deal. So, I don't think that deal that I proposed is overly aggressive at all. The Bulls will pay through the nose to aquire Melo, and it won't happen any other way.
again Noah is going nowhere
Here is a new story on Yahoo Sports saying that Carmelo prefers to be traded to Bulls or Knicks.

If you're GarPax, call Denver right now and tell them that if the Bulls can work out a long term deal with Melo, Denver can have Noah and Deng, but only if they do it right away. Then Denver gives Melo a take-it-or-leave-it offer that Melo likely walks away from, Bulls get Melo while unloading Deng's contract. Give the Bulls 4-5 years to find the right combination of role players around Rose, Anthony and Boozer and they just might do it.
Didn't really think Carmelo would be a good match for Chicago until I saw this, http://www.maxim.com/stuff/70001/carmelo-anthonys-hot-wheels.html
Hey Doug,
Here's a new story from Marc Spears at Yahoo Sports saying that Carmelo prefers to be traded to Bulls or Knicks.
